Fort Kochi en Mattancherry Walking Tour is een sightseeingtour in Fort Kochi en Mattancherry. Loop langs de straat en verken alle belangrijke bezienswaardigheden, van Chinese visnetten tot de joodse synagoge. Ontmoetingspunt Begin uw privéwandeltocht bij Fort Kochi en bezoek Chinese visnetten, die in de 14e eeuw door handelaren van het hof van Kublai Khan werden geïntroduceerd. Kochi-vissers gebruiken deze visnetten nog steeds om in hun levensonderhoud te voorzien. Vervolg uw wandeling naar de St. Francis Church, de oudste Europese kerk in India. De kerk werd in 1503 gebouwd door Portugese broeders en is nu de begraafplaats van Vasco da Gama, een Portugese ontdekkingsreiziger die de eerste schepen leidde die rechtstreeks van Europa naar India voeren. De kerk heeft een grote begraafplaats die ooit dienst deed als rustplaats voor Vasco da Gamma. Transfer naar Mattancherry in Auto Rickshaw / Tuc Tuc / Local Bus. Bekijk vervolgens de Santa Cruz-basiliek, een van de grootste en meest indrukwekkende kerken in India. De kerk heeft twee hoge torens en een heldere, witgekalkte buitenkant. Binnen vind je muren versierd met fresco's, muurschilderingen en grote schilderijen met scènes uit het leven van Jezus Christus. Bezoek Mattancherry Palace, gebouwd door de Portugezen en gepresenteerd aan de Raja van Kochi in 1555. Het paleis staat bekend om zijn prachtige muurschilderingen met scènes uit hindoeïstische verhalen, zoals de Ramayana en Mahabharata. Naast de deur is de Paradesi-synagoge, de oudste actieve synagoge in Zuid-India. Bewonder de sierlijke koperen preekstoel, de Belgische glazen kroonluchter en de handgeschilderde vloertegels van Chinees porselein. Beëindig de reis door rond te dwalen door de naburige Joodstad, een centrale locatie voor de kruidenhandel, en adem de geur van gember, kardemom, kurkuma en kruidnagel in. Later transfer terug naar je hotel in Fort Kochi of Mattancherry door een Auto Rickshaw / Tuc Tuc.

The walking tour with Saad was great. We only had a short time in Kochi and this was a great way to see the area. The whole process was great, from communicating via WhatsApp the night before, accomodating a different time slot and helping with our luggage. Immensely helpful and kind team and the actual tour itself is great. Saad tailored it to our interests, and such a vibe to the place. Could only wish we could stay longer and explore more. Will be back
Rajiv our guide was amazing! We had a great time learning about Fort Kochi and the rich history. He knew so much about architecture and flora and fauna. He joyously shared his city. He was even very patient and flexible when we needed a break from the heat and the tour! Take this tour! It was great! Bring water and hat and wear lots of sunscreen!

<p>The guide was very knowledgeable and the company accommodated us, starting an hour late. Being a person who like history, I enjoyed my time time with the guide. Some explanations at the palace museum were a bit lengthy, but we were able to hit the top things including the church before its closing time :. We had a small side talk about the difference between Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo and Pedro Álvares Cabral. The guide gave us a good local food recommendation at the end.</p>
