Onze kleine groepswandeltocht rond de oude stad van Belgrado is een unieke mix van geschiedenis, lokale cultuur en praktische tips voor elk type reiziger. We beginnen de reis in het hart van Belgrado — Republic Square (Trg Republike). Bekend om zijn iconische standbeeld van Prins Mihailo te paard, is dit de culturele en historische polsslag van de stad. We laten u met trots kennismaken met belangrijke bezienswaardigheden zoals het Nationaal Museum en het Nationaal Theater terwijl we verhalen over de Servische geschiedenis delen.
Vervolgens verkennen we het levendige voetgangersgebied van Knez Mihailova Street, het bruisende centrum van Belgrado Old City. Deze historische straat, omzoomd met elegante 19e-eeuwse gebouwen, biedt een mix van boekhandels, elegante cafés en straatartiesten. Hier ziet u verborgen sporen van het Ottomaanse Rijk, weet u meer over beroemde Servische wetenschappers en kunstenaars, vindt u een van de grootste lokale kunstmusea, terwijl de gids enkele insidertips deelt over hoe u uw tijd kunt besteden aan het wandelen op deze chique laan.
Bewonder de pracht van Belgrado's meest prominente orthodoxe kathedraal, gewijd aan de Heilige Aartsengel Michael. Bekend om zijn barokke architectuur en sierlijke interieur, is dit spirituele en culturele juweeltje getuige geweest van eeuwen Servische geschiedenis. Ontdek fascinerende verhalen over de heilige relikwieën en historische betekenis. Hierboven leert u meer over de 19-eeuwse Servische adel en zijn privéleven tegenover de residentie van prinses Ljubica. Om het af te ronden, zal de gids je de oudste Belgradiaanse Kafana (taverne) laten zien die een leesteken voor zijn naam heeft.
Wandel door Kalemegdan Park, een groene oase op een heuvel met een adembenemend panoramisch uitzicht op de samenvloeiing van de Donau en de Sava rivieren. Terwijl u langs oude vestingwerken wandelt, vertellen we over de militaire en culturele erfenis van Belgrado Fort. Het is de perfecte mix van geschiedenis en natuurlijke schoonheid zeer geliefd bij elke lokale bevolking.
We maken een stop bij de Bajrakli-moskee, een opvallende herinnering aan het Ottomaanse erfgoed van Belgrado. Als enige functionerende moskee van de stad vertelt het een verhaal van religieuze diversiteit en historische veranderingen die getuige zijn van vele rampen verspreid over de stad vanaf de 18e eeuw tot aan onze dagen.
We eindigen onze reis in Skadarlija, Belgrado's meest bohemien wijk. De geplaveide straten, vol charme en karakter, zijn een hub voor kunstenaars, muzikanten en traditionele kafanas. We zullen zeker tips delen over hoe je van rakija (prominente Servische brandewijn) kunt genieten als een local en jezelf onderdompelen in de levendige sfeer van Skadarlija.

Tapa was a very knowledgeable and professional young lady. She imparted a lot of knowledge about Serbian history with a focus on Belgrade. Being an architect student, she was able to provide a unique and informative tour about the city's landscape. We covered a lot of ground during our tour which ended in the Bohemian district. My plane was late, so I couldn't get in time for the scheduled tour, but my guide Tara was so kind and agreed to make a walk with me next day. The tour around the Old City of Belgrade with her was great: good temp, not much boring statistics or loads of historical dates, good amount of tips and tricks for the spare time and yes, coffee stop. Just as I like when travelling. Plus the weather was warm and sunny, so we could stand for a while to look at confluence of Sava and Danube. Good feelings and great memories. Absolutely recommended.

It was first time in my life that a group tour was conducted for me alone. I stayed in Belgrade just for 1 day, and could not reschedule the excursion, although it was raining heavily. The tour was absolutely fantastic! There were only two of us, so it felt like a private tour. The guide was a charming young woman who not only knew the city inside out but also made the experience fun, engaging and relaxed.
