De Capitolijnse Musea zijn de oudste openbare collectie ter wereld, met een indrukwekkende verzameling van alles, van oude beelden tot renaissanceschilderijen. Paus Sixtus IV schonk de beroemde Lateraanse bronzen beelden aan de stad Rome. Dit geschenk omvatte de wolvin, de Spinario, de Camillus, het kolossale hoofd van Constantijn met zijn hand en de wereldbol. Sindsdien zijn de oude sculpturen verzameld op het Capitool We beginnen onze reis door deze geweldige plek vanuit Palazzo Nuovo, waar je vele beroemde sculpturen kunt bewonderen, waaronder de Stervende Galata, de Capitolijnse Venus, de twee Centauren en de Dansende Faun, maar ook reliëfs, mozaïeken, bronzen beelden van de Hellenistische tot de Romeinse tijd en de prachtige bustes van de heersers. Binnen deze geweldige plek kunt u ontspannen door de werken van Caravaggio, Pietro da Cortona, Guercio, Tintoretto, Annabelle Carracci, Paolo Veronese, Titiaan, Rubens, Antonio Van Dyck en vele andere kunstenaars te verkennen.

After a bit of trouble finding the tour guide, tour went wonderfully. Knowledgeable, helpful and very personable guide. Museum is awe inspiring and well worth it!

Guide was great, a little tough to understand, but our issue was limited hours during New Years Eve, not her fault but felt rushed and not the best tour.
