Klassieke Golden Circle-tour met kleine groep vanuit Reykjavik

Bezoek de populaire bezienswaardigheden van de Golden Circle tijdens deze 8-uur durende tour vanuit Reykjavik. Rijd door het IJslandse platteland in een minibus naar Thingvellir National Park, Gulfoss Waterfall, Geysir en Kerið krater. WiFi aan boord is inbegrepen.

De eerste stop van de dag is het stadje Hveragerði, waar we een korte toiletstop hebben. Hveragerði ligt op ongeveer 45 minuten rijden van Reykjavik. Er zijn toiletten, een bakkerij en een tentoonstelling over aardbevingen. Beschouw dit als een korte pitstop op weg naar de Golden Circle.
Gullfoss, is een van de beroemdste watervallen van IJsland. Het is krachtig en lang. Door de rivier stort de Hvítá, een gletsjerrivier die afkomstig is van Langjökull, zich in deze tweetraps waterval. Er zijn een handvol uitkijkplatforms om de waterval te observeren en boven Gullfoss is er Gullfoss centrum waar toiletten, een cafetaria en cadeauwinkels zijn. LET OP : Het pad dat helemaal tot aan de waterval leidt is in het winterseizoen gesloten.
In Haukadalur is er een veld van warmwaterbronnen geassocieerd met de warmwaterbron Geysir, maar Geysir is een van de beroemdste warmwaterbronnen ter wereld en was vroeger een geiser. Het belangrijkste display is de warmwaterbrongeiser Strokkur, die ongeveer elke 5 minuten uitbarst. Hier hebben we tijd om rond te lopen in de omgeving en hier pauzeren we ook voor de lunch. Bij Geysir centrum vindt u toiletten, cadeauwinkels en het restaurant Glíma die geschikt is voor elk pallet of dieet.
Þingvellir is vol geschiedenis en natuurlijke schoonheid. Het staat tussen de Noord-Amerikaanse en Euraziatische tektonische platen. Deze kloofvallei heeft een speciale plek in de harten van alle IJslanders. Het is waar onze natie werd gevormd door de Noorse Viking kolonisten toen zij het oudste parlement in de moderne wereld, Alþingi Íslendinga, in het jaar 930 n.Chr. Bij deze stop is er genoeg tijd om rond te lopen en dit natuurwonder te verkennen. Dit is het dichtst dat je kunt krijgen om in twee continenten tegelijk te zijn. We krijgen de gelegenheid om te wandelen in de kloofvallei, waar de tektonische platen uit elkaar trekken. We kunnen deze beweging waarnemen omdat onder het nationaal park de Euraziatische en de Noord-Amerikaanse tektonische platen elk jaar met ~2 cm uit elkaar bewegen. Þingvellir werd in 2004 aangewezen als Werelderfgoed van UNESCO en is zonder twijfel een van de mooiste en meest historische plekken in IJsland. In de omgeving zijn er toiletten en coffeeshops voor bezoekers.
We stoppen bij de Kerið krater, een 6500 jaar oude vulkanische formatie met daarin een klein meer. Deze krater kenmerkt zich door de contrasterende kleuren van het mos, rood vulkanisch gesteente en lichtblauw water. Zorg ervoor dat u naar beneden waagt aan de oever van het meer en geniet van de majestueuze schoonheid die Kerið is.

We kunnen helaas geen ophaalservice bieden van privéappartementen, Airbnb-appartementen, hotels in de buitenwijken van Reykjavík of Keflavik Airport voor onze tours. Als uw ophaallocatie niet op onze ophaallijst staat, vragen we u vriendelijk om het dichtstbijzijnde ophaalpunt bij uw accommodatie te vinden op de onderstaande kaart of lijst en ons daar te ontmoeten voor uw tour. BELANGRIJK : Ophalen begint op de vertrektijd van uw tour, dus wees op dat moment op de door u aangewezen ophaallocatie. Afhankelijk van het verkeer en uw locatie kan het tot 30 minuten duren voordat uw Gids u bereikt. DROP-OFF : U wordt afgezet om ongeveer 17 : 00 (5 : 00pm) van uw oorspronkelijke pick-up locatie. Tijden kunnen veranderen afhankelijk van het weer en de wegomstandigheden. *Als u met een cruiseschip naar cruiseterminal Skarfabakki (312 of 315) komt, volg dan de borden en ga naar de ophaallocatie "Pre-Booked Tours" ten oosten van de terminalgebouwen.

Water falls alone worth the trip. Unfortunately hard to understand driver due to sound quality
Tomas was a great guide, knowledgeable, friendly, funny, responsive to our needs. Definitely take a tour with him!
This trip was very disappointing. We were looking very forward to going to the Golden Circle but it was not what we thought. The driver spoke English but with a very heavy accent. Initially we couldn't hear anything he was saying. We had to keep telling him to increase the volume. When he increased the volume and spoke his accent was so heavy and he spoke so quickly I couldn't understand him. We were given less than an hour to see the waterfall and we had to really rush through it. I felt like I was having a heart attack on the way back because it was a very uphill steep Rocky climb. So very disappointed in the amount and quality of time we spent at the waterfall. We spent much more time at the geyser which to us was less interesting. When you see one you've seen them all. We've gone to Yellowstone and it doesn't compare. So very disappointed overall in the trip. You either need to add time onto the overall trip even if you charge more, or extend the time for the waterfall and lessen the time for the geyser. As a senior thr time frame alloted was not enough.
We enjoyed the tomato farm and the soup very much. We enjoyed the whole day and different places we went. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating
The small group Golden Circle all day tour is fantastic! Our driver added 2 extra mini stops -one to interact with the Icelandic horses (who are super sweet) and an ice cream stop at a local farm where the ice cream is made. Delicious!!!!! Our driver had a great sense of humor and was a pleasure to spend the day learning about Iceland from him.
An excellent day seeing all the key sites on the golden circle. Thor, the driver/guide, provided helpful and knowledgeable commentary. The tour was well paced. Nothing felt rushed , with ample time at each stop to appreciate the beauty of Iceland . This small tour had 18 participants which made for a better experience than travelling in a large coach
The guide was excellent, had a good sense of humor and very knowledgeable. The ride on the minibus was smooth but the seats were small and did not have enough legroom. Liked the small group size. Unfortunately, we departed late because of an error on the booking process for three people. It took nearly an hour to get this resolved. In the meantime the group waited nearly the hour for the tour to start. Additionally the group agreed to make a short stop for ice cream. However, this added to the lateness of getting back to the cruise ship as scheduled. Thus we had to cancel a previous engagement as we would not have made it back to the cruise ship on time. We mistakenly assumed that with the delay and the ice cream stop that somehow the time at the other stops would be shortened by a few minutes to make up for the late departure and the ice cream stop.

Guide was very good with lots of info and knowledgable. Good stops...even the extra stop at farm with the best ice cream!! Bus can get warm
