Syntagma is het centrale plein van Athene. Het plein is vernoemd naar de grondwet die Otto, de eerste koning van Griekenland, verplicht was toe te kennen na een volksopstand op 3 september 1843. Het ligt voor het 19e-eeuwse oude koninklijke paleis en huisvest sinds 1934 het Griekse parlement. Syntagma-plein is het belangrijkste plein van het moderne Athene vanuit zowel historisch als sociaal oogpunt, in het hart van de commerciële activiteit en de Griekse politiek.
De Centrale Markt (ook wel Varvakios Agora genoemd) ligt tussen Monastiraki en het Omonoia-plein en is een must als je de Griekse cultuur en eten wilt ontdekken De structuur werd gebouwd aan het einde van de 19e eeuw en is dagelijks geopend van vroeg in de ochtend tot laat. - Sommige van de markten en verkopers die we na de lunchpauze bezoeken, kunnen dus alleen 's morgens plaatsvinden
- Gelieve van tevoren aan te geven of vegetarische opties gewenst zijn. De tour is vegetarisch vriendelijk, omdat vegetariërs op elke plek opties hebben. Er zijn echter beperkte keuzes voor andere dieetbeperkingen, zoals glutenvrij of zuivelvrij. Er kan helaas geen rekening worden gehouden met ernstige allergieën tijdens deze tour.
- Tijdens de tour is er voldoende eten, dus je hebt alleen een licht ontbijt nodig
- In een poging om ervoor te zorgen dat u elke vorm van ongemak vermijdt en vooral dat u zich op uw gemak voelt, kunnen onze gidsen de volgorde van de sites die u bezoekt wijzigen.

Started off with meeting our guide, Tassos. Meeting point was a little confusing at first but a quick message with the provider and they told me exactly where to be at. The wife and I were lucky to be the only ones, so it may have just been a private tour. Tassos took us to many places to try the “must haves” while in Greece. The pace was perfect, it made it more personal with our conversations. I would highly recommend this tour.

Tasso made the entire tour absolutely epic, his knowledge of Athens stories and his gift of relating to everyone is exceptional. The tour was very informative. He explained so much with the food took us to so many good places was the highlight of Athens.

This was a superb tour! Our guide, Tassos was so funny, knowledgeable and kind. The pace was perfect and we chatted all the way around. The food was delicious and plentiful with us tasting things and seeing streets and markets we’d never have ventured into or tried. This has been a wonderful four hours! Highly recommend

Tassos, our guide for the day, is extraordinary; he took the time to tell us the history of the city of Athens and took us on a journey through culinary history in an exceptional conviviality.
