Bekijk vóór uw reis met ons onze vertrek- en retourinstructies. Als u vragen heeft, kunt u contact opnemen voordat u in de stad aanmeert. We halen je op bij het excursieknooppunt, onderaan de zipline bij de groene gondel. Ga ook niet naar het kajakcentrum. Er zijn twee kajakbedrijven in de stad. Fairweather Kayaks is gevestigd in een van de mooiste gebieden in het zuidoosten van Alaska. Een klein stadje genaamd Hoonah, Alaska. Je voelt je niet alleen als thuis als je hier aankomt. De mensen hier zorgen ervoor dat het voelt als thuis. Het is een moeilijke plek om te vertrekken na je bezoek. Het belangrijkste doel van Fairweather Kayaks is om u een ervaring te laten zien die u ook na uw uitje kunt ervaren. Je loopt niet alleen blij en ontspannen weg als je op het water bent. Ons doel is om u zo'n leuke tijd te bezorgen dat u al voor uw vertrek aan uw volgende bezoek denkt. Fairweather Kayaks neemt je mee naar kalme wateren waar de kajakervaring niet al te moeilijk is en er altijd een kans is om wilde dieren te zien.

We verlaten de stad Hoonah en verlaten de haven. We reizen langs de kustlijn en peddelen naar een oud houthakkerskamp.

ZORG DAT JE 15 MINUTEN VOOR JE RONDLEIDING AANWEZIG BENT, UIT BELEEFDHEID TEGENOVER ANDEREN VERTREKKEN WE OP TIJD. Als je schip in het Adventure Dock ligt, ga dan aan land naar het Adventure Center. Eenmaal binnen in het Adventure Center loop je door het gebouw en verlaat je deur nummer “2”. (Dit is duidelijk gemarkeerd). Volg de borden op het grindpad naar de Excursion Hub. De totale wandeltijd is 6-8 minuten, houd rekening met extra tijd als u geen snelwandelaar bent. Wij vragen u 15 minuten eerder in te checken voor uw tour en we vertrekken op tijd. Als je schip aangemeerd ligt bij het Wilderness Dock, loop je de schans op en naar rechts. Rijd met de GRATIS Green Transporter Gondola (4 minuten rijden) naar de Adventure Landing. Verlaat de gondel naar links en volg de borden naar de Excursion Hub, op 3 minuten lopen. Gelieve in te checken met de Hoonah Travel Representative in het blauwe shirt / jas wanneer u aankomt op de Hub!

The team with Fairweather kayaks made sure we had a great experience. Our group was lucky enough to see whales and salmon run! I appreciate that the group respects the native wildlife and told personal stories and shared information about the land/waters. We enjoyed the tour and the longer journey!

We had an absolutely wonderful kayaking tour today and would like to say a huge thank you to the entire team! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized. The transportation was smooth, and we received a very friendly and thorough introduction to kayaking when we arrived. Our guides and the whole team were incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. They explained everything very clearly and also shared lots of interesting information about the surroundings and the wildlife throughout the tour. The scenery was simply breathtaking – honestly, the landscape alone would have been worth 10 out of 10 points. On top of that, we were incredibly lucky to have perfect weather and even got to see eagles and bears in the wild. It was truly an unforgettable experience! This was my first time in a kayak, and it was a great experience. Because it was my first time, I was in the kayak with Dave, one of the guides on the tour. Dave made the experience wonderful and would certainly recommend this tour even if you have never kayaked before.
We kayaked for a full 3 hours. They provided everything we needed and even had skirts to go around us to keep us from getting wet. We saw a lot of wildlife and beautiful scenery. We were picked up and dropped off with plenty of time to return to our ship. I highly recommend for anyone who wants to see a little more of Alaska.
We were really pleased with our experience and really had a great time on the water with Fairweather kayaks. I love that they take pictures and share them via email at the end of the trip. We loved getting to see the beautiful mountains and the scenery and thought it was a great and relaxing time out on the water. The owner shared a wealth of knowledge about the area and culture and my family really learned a lot. We had hoped to see a bear but we truly understand the nature of the area and we knew going into it that it’s not guaranteed. We would highly recommend this excursion to our friends and others. Thankful for a great time in Hoonah. Hope to visit again one day
Very friendly family owned business. It was a pretty difficult paddle back but they have a safety boat if anyone needs help. Not for young kids but great for older kids that can help paddle.

Impressive The guide was explaining everything to us the whole time, about the wildlife, the landscape, and anecdotes. Super friendly We saw bears, seals, sea lions, bald eagles, the whales eluded us but that's nature, and they are almost always seen. The setting was spectacular and the sea was calm. Meanwhile, from a small boat they were taking photos of us that they later sent us by email. They also gave us water and snacks. We recommend it without a doubt. A 10!!
