Swayambhunath ligt op ca. 2600 jaar oude boeddhistische stoepa, uitkijkend over de hele Kathmandu-vallei. Het wordt vaak de Apentempel genoemd vanwege de honderden apen, de plaatselijke bewoners. De belangrijkste stoepa, oude sculpturen, de tempel van de kinderbeschermergodin, kloosters, enz. Zijn hier de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden.
Kathmandu Durbar Square is een historische plek in het hart van de oude stad Kathmandu. Het Durbar-plein is omgeven door paleizen, binnenplaatsen en tempels. Het is een aangename plek om te bezoeken vanwege de historische betekenis, de prachtige Newari-architectuur en de bruisende bazaars.
Gelegen op ongeveer 5 km afstand van de hoofdstad in de wijk Lalitpur. Het is een samensmelting van twee invloedrijke religies, het boeddhisme en het hindoeïsme. De stad Patan toonde op perfecte wijze de authentieke kunst, architectuur, cultuur, religie en erfgoed. Het klassieke architectonische ontwerp dat op de huizen wordt getoond en het fijne handwerk op de deuren en ramen vertegenwoordigen de esthetische, eeuwenoude schoonheid.
De Changunarayan-tempel, een van de oudste tempels in Nepal, ligt op een heuveltop in het dorp Changu Narayan, vlakbij Bhaktapur. Er wordt aangenomen dat het in de 4e eeuw is gebouwd tijdens de Lichhavi-dynastie, waardoor het een van de oudste nog bestaande houten constructies in Nepal is.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square in Bhaktapur, een stad in de Kathmandu-vallei, toont het rijke culturele erfgoed van Nepal. Het staat bekend om zijn goed bewaarde middeleeuwse architectuur, tempels, paleizen en ingewikkelde kunstwerken. Het is gevuld met talloze andere heiligdommen, standbeelden en binnenplaatsen, die elk opmerkelijk architectonisch en artistiek vakmanschap vertonen.
Als een van de legendarische hindoetempels die je moet bezoeken, verwelkomt deze site jaarlijks miljoenen bezoekers. De tempel ligt aan de oever van de heilige Bagmati-rivier, die naar de Ganges stroomt. Hier krijg je de kans om getuige te zijn van een open openbaar crematorium waar alle rituelen en rituelen worden uitgevoerd. Je ziet zelfs de heilige mannen poseren voor foto's met geschilderd gezicht, dreadlocks haar en met as aangebracht lichaam.
Bouddhanath wordt beschouwd als een van de grootste stoepa's ter wereld, gebouwd in de 4e eeuw. Het heiligdom zelf lijkt op een Tibetaans dorp, aangezien de omgeving Tibetaanse kloosters omvat. Daarnaast zijn er een nee. van schilderscholen met Lama's die Thanka schilderen, de beste souvenirs uit Nepal.

It was a very efficient and worthwhile tour that covered the main tourist attractions in one day. We had a very enjoyable time thanks to the friendly Dipendra guide. I would especially recommend this tour to those who are short on time for sightseeing in Kathmandu.

Our guide was Dipendra Dharel, a very polite, professional, and kind young man. He immersed us in Nepalese life and its rich history and culture. We booked the group tour to 7 UNESCO sites - it was easily the highlight of our trip to Kathmandu. Covering all seven sites—Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, etc. —in a single day is a marathon, but our guide - Ashok, made it feel seamless. Ashok is incredibly knowledgeable, funny and pleasant - explaining from intricate Newari architecture to the deep spiritual significance of the cremation rituals at Pashupatinath. The van was air-conditioned and clean, which was a lifesaver given the Kathmandu traffic. If you are short on time and want to see the best of Nepal’s history, this is the tour to book. Highly recommend, especially with guide Ashok Silwal, author of the book 'Everest - an unfinished story'.

It was an amazing experience as a first timer to Kathmandu Nepal but I rated it a 3 because I don’t think some of the temples we visited were worth the amount we paid.

Amazing introduction to Kathmandu and Nepal. We did this tour the day after arriving. Our guide Dependra was extremely knowledgeable and easy going through out the whole tour, plenty of time to take photos and ask questions. Our driver Bakhat did an excellent job navigating the crazy streets of Kathmandu.
