Een bezoek aan de geboorteplaats van de Olympische Spelen is een once in a lifetime ervaring. Bij de Honey Farm ervaart u niet alleen het Griekse plattelandsleven, maar ook de Griekse gastvrijheid. De kans om lokale producten zoals honing, wijn en olijfolie te proeven, maakt uw excursie onvergetelijk. Wikkel je tour af met een duik in het heldere blauwe water van de Ionische zee.

Het heiligdom van Olympia strekt zich uit over een betoverend landschap dat aan de voet van de heuvel Kronius ligt. Dit maakte het een ideale locatie voor de Olympische Spelen die elke vier jaar werden gehouden om Zeus te eren. Als je daar eenmaal bent, zul je de tempel van Zeus bezoeken, die een van de zeven wereldwonderen en de tempel van Hera huisvest, waar de Olympische fakkel is verlicht. Exploratie op de Olympia-site is alleen (gelicentieerde gids op de Olympia-site is niet inbegrepen in de tourprijs en is op aanvraag beschikbaar tegen een extra vergoeding - neem in het geval dat dit nodig is contact met ons op voor de boeking)
Het Archeologisch Museum toont wereld bekende werken van oude kunst en tentoonstellingen uit de klassieke periode, de beroemde frontons uit de tempel van Zeus, Nike van Paionios en Hermes van Praxiteles.
Op een boogscheut van het museum en de ruïnes in Olympia, kun je Klio en haar moeder ontmoeten op haar boerderij. Klio verwelkomt u met een schaal met seizoensfruit, vers vruchtensap en koffie in een tuin vol met fruitbomen en groenten. Door de presentatie van bijenteeltools, maak je kennis met het leven van bijen van de oudheid tot vandaag. Sluit uw bezoek af met "diples", een traditionele zoet met honing,
Agriturismo Magna Grecia is in 2009 opgericht door Dimitri Karabelas en Franca Magrini. Bezoekers van Ancient Olympia hebben nu de mogelijkheid om de authentieke smaken van het Griekse land te proeven, waarbij ze de extra vergine olijfolie, olijven en wijnen proeven die de familie produceert. Hun doel is om ervoor te zorgen dat de gasten van Magna Grecia unieke momenten beleven tijdens hun bezoek aan hun apotheek.
Het strand van Saint Andrew ligt zeer dicht bij de haven van Katakolon, het ligt achter de heuvel van Katakolon en op slechts 4 km afstand. Het strand met dik zand en rotsen in de zomer is vol leven. Het heeft een prachtig uitzicht op de zee. Er is ook een café en een traditioneel restaurant waar iemand kan genieten van koffie of een maaltijd.

We did the 7 hour Katakolon / Olympia tour in July 2026. It was very hot! But we had a great day! Everything was seamless with Dora and we appreciated her nice air conditioned Mercedes van. From the archaeological site and lovely museum, to the honey farm, an olive oil tasting, lunch and the beach, we had a wonderful time.
Dora was amazing! She was very accommodating with our group and the changes to the port schedule! The tour itself was very informative and a delight to see after other cruise ports in Greece. Our group of 17 really enjoyed our day!!

Dora was fantastic to work with as I was planning a large group with 17 people. She was very accommodating when our cruise ship changed the times we were in port. Fantastic experience. Joanna was our tour leader, and she accommodated our every request across all of the different events, even getting us a personal guide at the last moment for Olympia. We had less time than we expected, so we didn't get to do all of the events, but Joanna worked with us to ensure we did all the things we wanted and spent the time we had on what we preferred.
