Uw eerste stop is het meest romantische icoon van de Loire: Chenonceau, beroemd als het “Château des Dames”. Het ligt boven de rivier de Cher en is direct herkenbaar aan zijn sierlijke bogen en elegante silhouet. Je hebt de tijd om het kasteel in je eigen tempo te verkennen, je door rijk versierde kamers te bewegen en de unieke omgeving aan de rivier te bewonderen die Chenonceau het gevoel geeft dat geen enkel ander kasteel in Frankrijk zich voelt. Mis de tuinen niet – ontworpen op een manier die het verfijnde, intieme karakter van het kasteel weerspiegelt en de vrouwen die de geschiedenis hebben gevormd.
Vervolgens komt het kasteel van Cheverny, een verfijnd, gastvrij kasteel dat bekend staat om zijn prachtig bewaard gebleven interieur en klassieke Franse elegantie. Het biedt een andere vibe – minder monumentaal dan Chambord, maar heerlijk “ingeleefd” en gepolijst. Cheverny is ook beroemd in de populaire cultuur : het inspireerde Hergé’s Moulinsart in de Kuifje strips.
Uw laatste stop is het meest majestueuze pronkstuk van de Loirevallei: Chambord, het grootste en spectaculairste kasteel van de regio. Dit is pure Renaissance grandeur – torens, terrassen en een skyline die lijkt op een sprookjesachtige stad gebouwd op een dak. Binnen verkent u vrij en ontdekt u het beroemdste kenmerk van het kasteel: de ingewikkelde dubbele helixtrap, vaak toegeschreven aan Leonardo da Vinci. The excursion was great, the time allocated for visits was sufficient, and the guide was excellent. Very friendly and smiling, he taught us a lot about the surroundings of the castles and about Paris. He answered our questions very well with additional little anecdotes.

Remy was very nice, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. It was a long time to/from the Loire Valley in the van. We had plenty of time in the castles - each different but very beautiful and worth seeing. Only critique: Remy had to divide his time between 3 segments of our group who all spoke different languages and no common tongue.

We had a great day. So nice to have all the logistics taken care of and recommendations of where to go, what to eat, and favorite souvenirs. It was great to have the minivan with good AC when it was very very hot.

Everything was ok on the day of. The company had canceled my original slot with less than 24 hours notice and having already been billed because “they didn’t have enough other people going that day.” After rescheduling, day of activity had 6 people total going. So I don’t know what the threshold is for them to cancel so late. I was lucky I had a single other day I was available so I was still able to do the trip. The tour guide was more of just a driver since they didn’t share info about any of the places traveled to. On the actual day of the experience was good. However due to the late cancellation I cannot recommend it.

The car was very comfortable, we left on time as indicated, the guide was very pleasant and helpful, with a very good attitude! The AC was a blessing; we had a very hot day.

A prefect day spent discovering these amazing castles. Everything was spot on. The coach was brand new, comfortable and air conditioned. Our guide Remy very knowledgable and polite was introducing the history of the castles before arriving in the coach. We enjoyed being given the freedom to spend our visit as we wished. Everything was well paced, although sometimes a little bit rushed- but of course that's the compromise to make when 3 castles are in the program!
