De reis begint met ophalen bij je hotel in Zagreb en rijdt naar het noorden. Na een aangename rit door het prachtige landschap bereiken we Trakoscan, het beroemdste en best bewaarde Kroatische kasteel. Het kasteel werd eind 13e of begin 14e eeuw voor het eerst gebouwd als een klein verdedigingsfort. Het complex van Trakošćan dat we vandaag de dag hebben, een romantische synergie van architectuur en natuur, is het resultaat van de 19e eeuw. Het kasteel werd gereconstrueerd in neogotische stijl en het omliggende landschap, inclusief een meer, ontstond naar het model van een Engels park. Je ziet een waardevolle collectie schilderijen, meubels en wapens en geniet van een wandeling door de schilderachtige omgeving van het kasteel.
Na het kasteel ontdekt u de eeuwenoude traditie van de wijnbouw en wijnbereiding in ''Vuglec Breg''. Een bezoek aan de wijnkelder is voor iedere gast een bijzondere belevenis en het genieten van een wijnproeverij tovert bij iedere wijnliefhebber een glimlach van verrukking op de lippen. Na de wijnproeverij kunt u lunchen in een traditioneel restaurant met seizoensgebonden en zelfgemaakte producten uit de regio Zagorje (lunch is optioneel).

We had a really great day with Tom. Was about an hour drive to the Castle and he pointed out many sights along the way. The castle was an amazing sight to see. After this we traveled to a fabulous winery where we had a light lunch, cheese tray and wonderful wines. The home made bread with pumpkin oil was sooooo good. I highly recommend this tour with Tom.
Our guide/driver Luca was very personable. Trakascan Castle had an interactive AI that was fun and our wine tasting at Vuglic Breg was excellent!!!!
Tomas was a wonderful guide, and made arrangements for a tour of the wine cellar. Wonderful experience!

We had a marvelous day with Tomislav, he was on time to pick us up from the hotel. Very knowledgeable about the sights and such a great person to be with all day. We felt like we made a new friend in Croatia. He even helped us with dinner suggestions and reservations for that evening. We will always remember him as a friend in Croatia not just a guide.

First of all our driver, Tom was punctual and spoke great English! Trakošćan Castle is beautiful and ticket is included in the price. Also the wine tasting is awesome, if you're into this type of entertainment! My negative experience was with the second castle. It is pretty and has a lot of history but it is owned by a mean rich beggar. Imagine Ebenezer Scrooge -in female form. She is so rich, she owns a castle and things that cost hundreds of thousands -if not millions- and plays it poor. If you are weak, you will end up paying her for her lies. And you will also be encouraged by the driver to give her money (that is not TAXED as she gives no receipt for donations!!!) - which makes the entire experience worse. I would advise the agency to keep the Trakošćan and wine tasting experience and avoid the tourist scam lady.

We agree the owner of the second castle is a special lady but the castle is included in the itinerary as we consider it worth visiting for its history and personalized experience. Our guide points out that the agency makes a donation for every visit and your donation is completely up to you. We are sorry you weren't completely satisfied with the tour and we appreciate you sharing your experience. To avoid any other of our guests feeling the way you did, we've changed the itinerary a bit and included another beautiful castle instead.
We had a fantastic experience on this tour! The castles were beautiful and interesting. The wine tasting and visit to the vineyard was fun and we thought the value for the experience was top notch. Tomislav was a friendly and knowledgable driver; we had a great time with him!
