Ervaar het hart van Kampala tijdens deze meeslepende stadstour van een halve dag, te beginnen met de bruisende energie van het stadscentrum bij bezienswaardigheden zoals het Onafhankelijkheidsmonument, de Nakasero-markt en het Oegandese Nationale Culturele Centrum. Stap in de rijke tradities van het Buganda Koninkrijk in het Kabaka's Palace en langs de Royal Mile, en neem verhalen van koningen en historische monumenten in je op. Pauzeer boven op de Gadhafi-moskee voor een prachtig 360 graden uitzicht op de zeven heuvels van de stad en reis vervolgens naar de heilige Kasubi-graven, een UNESCO-werelderfgoedlocatie, om verbinding te maken met het koninklijke en culturele erfgoed van Oeganda voordat u terugkeert naar uw hotel of voorkeurslocatie.

De tour begint met uptown Kampala Sights. Verken de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden van Uptown Kampala, waaronder het Onafhankelijkheidsmonument, Mutesa II Monument, het Tweede Wereldoorlogsmonument, het Parlementsgebouw, de Bank van Oeganda (in 1966), het Oeganda Nationaal Cultureel Centrum (in 1959) en het hoofdkantoor van de Kampala Hoofdstedelijke Autoriteit. Verken het Idi Amin Armoury, bekijk historische machinegeweren en blader door het paleispicturaal terwijl je leert over Buganda's rijke geschiedenis. Rijd langs Kabaka’s Lake en bezoek het Nantawetwa Monument, een plek die alleen geopend is als de koning van het paleis naar het Buganda Parlement reist. Ga verder langs de Royal Mile, bezienswaardigheden zoals Bulange (Buganda Parlement), het Kabaka’s Monument, Zakaria Kisingiri Huis en de Buganda Clan Symbolen.
Khadhafi-moskee en uitzicht op de stad. Terwijl u door Kampala uit de jaren 1980 rijdt, stopt u bij de Gadhafi-moskee, een geschenk van wijlen kolonel Muammar Gadhafi. Beklim de minaret voor een adembenemend uitzicht van 360 graden op de beroemde zeven heuvels van Kampala, met bezienswaardigheden zoals Fort Lugard (opgericht in 1800 door kapitein Frederick Lugard) en de Old Kampala Senior Secondary School, waar Rwanda's president Kagame ooit studeerde.
Kasubi Tombes (UNESCO Werelderfgoed). Bezoek vervolgens de Kasubi Tombes, een vereerde spirituele en culturele site voor de Baganda. De graven dienen als begraafplaats voor de laatste vier Kabaka's (koningen) van Buganda en blijven een centrum voor de koninklijke familie. Traditionele rituelen en culturele praktijken worden hier nog steeds waargenomen, waardoor Buganda’s rijke erfgoed generaties lang behouden blijft.
Makerere University bezienswaardigheden. Vanuit Kasubi rijdt u door Makerere University, de grootste en oudste academische instelling van Oeganda (rond 1922) en de op twee na oudste universiteit van Afrika. Verken bezienswaardigheden zoals de Oude Universiteitsbibliotheek (1949), het Hoofdbestuursgebouw (sinds 1941) en het Onderwijsmonument.
Kalerwe Markt en de Baha’i Tempel. Op weg naar de Baha’i-tempel passeert u de Kalerwe-markt, de levendige op een na grootste lokale markt van Kampala, perfect om foto’s te maken of vers fruit op te halen. Ga verder naar Kikaya Hill om de Baha’i Tempel te bezoeken, een unieke spirituele bezienswaardigheid in Afrika. Neem even de tijd voor een vredige reflectie in de tempel en wandel door de weelderige tuinen en maak onvergetelijke foto's. Belangrijke mededeling : De tempel is op maandag gesloten.
Bezoek het Uganda National Museum. Bezoek het Uganda National Museum, het eerste en oudste museum van Oost-Afrika, opgericht in 1908 en verplaatst naar de huidige locatie in 1954. Verken de rijke vertoningen van de geschiedenis, cultuur en het erfgoed van Oeganda, een perfect hoogtepunt van uw stadstour. Na een lunchpauze in een plaatselijk restaurant gaat u verder naar de Martelaarsschrijn, een belangrijke spirituele en historische plek die de christelijke martelaren van Oeganda herdenkt. Sluit uw tour af in het Uganda National Museum. Daarna wordt u afgezet bij uw hotel in Kampala, of kiest u voor een transfer buiten de stad tegen een meerprijs.

I didn't have a lot of time for sight seeing in Kampala and this half tour with Gazelle Safari was the best decision ever. Mathew was my guide and he was all that and then some more. He was very polite and professional the entire time. He didn't rush me through any of the sites we visited and was very accommodating as-needed. He is very knowledgeable and learnt so much about Uganda than I would have ever thought! He is very passionate about his job too. To name but a few, knowledgable, critical, friendly, hospitable, are some prime qualities of Mathew. Despite only having spent half day with Mathew, I had gained a lifetime of knowledge and a lifelong friend. I am constantly overwhelmed and impressed by his passion in Kampala's history, his insights in Uganda's social situation, and his interests in sharing with me Uganda's culture. From our visits to the Kabaka's Palace, to our visits in the Uganda National Mosque and the Uganda Museum, Mathew provided all the essential information that I needed to know and provided critical answers to each question that I wished to know. Mathew knows all about the city and is also a global citizen who has in-depth knowledge of other countries, very likely even your own home country! I took this tour on my own after arriving in Kampala, and it was a great way to explore the city. I learned a lot about the history and culture, and I had a great experience! My tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was by car and very comfortable, it was on time, and it was very easy to arrange/schedule.
