Abraham was our guide for this adventure. He did a great job teaching us about the wildlife/vegetation in the area. The paddle was very relaxing and easy to do for all skill levels.
This was a great activity. We had a relaxing kayak down the river through the mangroves. We saw many species of birds and the guide Abraham provided a lot of information about the bird species and trees. The fruit and coconut water provided on the beach stop was appreciated. For the company providing the tour, I would just suggest they add some additional information to their Viator listing such as what to bring (footwear for the beach for example). Also, as this activity is dependent on the tides they should reach out when the activity is booked to provide the time (I had to message them as I was hesitant to have my credit card charged before I knew the time. They were always extremely prompt in replying to any of my questions)
The kayaking was very peaceful and chilled out, and the guide was very friendly. Saw lots of wildlife including caymans, basilisk and monkeys, would definitely recommend
Happy to hear the abundant wildlife came to visit during your kayak. Thank you for the lovely review!
Incredible experience yesterday kayaking through the mangroves with our guide Abraham. It was so fun and informative. Even for a beginner level kayaker like my self it was really easy. We saw some amazing birds, a quick sighting of a crocodile and some beautiful views. Abe took us to an isolated beach and we enjoyed delicious fruits and had some free time to play in the waves. While enjoying the ocean we also got to see a dolphin swimming by. Would absolutely recommend. It was our favourite day of our trip.
We are happy to hear that you loved the kayaking as much as we do. Thank you for recommending us!
Four of us spent a beautiful morning paddling through the mangroves with Rio as our guide. Truly one of the highlights of our trip to Nosara! The scenery was spectular and the experience educational because Rio is so knowledgeable about animal and plant life, local history—and more. What an interesting fellow doing what he clearly loves! Highly recommend!
Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. The mangroves are truly a beautiful place!
The experience was overall lackluster and mediocre. I have been done many kayak tours all over the world. The area was more of a swamp river, there was very little wildlife (only a few birds- not as advertised), the area seemed barren, and our guide was unengaged and uncommunicative (reading a manual at times). The pros were having a tandem kayak, the fresh cold coconuts at the ocean stop, and being able to park in the gated area at the pickup point.
Hi there, looks like you have us confused with the "pros" you mention in your review. We operate this experience along the Rio Nosara which is a beautiful and peaceful area with a stop at a secret black sand beach for fresh fruits. Our guides are always local, knowledgeable and do not own any manuals to read even if they wanted one. We are one of only a very few select companies with access into the gated area, we pay for this privilege, and we are grateful to have the newest kayaks in the area which is referenced in many of our past reviews (both tandem and single). We recommend double checking who you kayaked with as it seems you are bashing the company you should have booked with in the first place. Pura Vida!
This was a really lovely tour to begin our trip. It was a pretty and not very difficult paddle with plenty to see. Kayaks were in good shape, our guide (the owner of the company) was great and knew exactly where to look for wildlife. We saw different kinds of birds and even a crocodile! We all enjoyed it.
Thank you for your review and we hope to see you back soon!
We had a fun and relaxing afternoon paddling through the peaceful mangroves. Abraham was great-- super nice and he knew so much about the birds, animals, trees and area. We were treated to fresh coconuts, delicious pineapple and even watermelon midway through the trip. We stopped to snack where the river meets the ocean and it was breathtaking. The trip was super chill annd well-planned. It was clear they had been doing this for awhile. Ashley and Abraham were great; it just what we needed. We highly recommend this tour to experience nature in Costa Rica.
Thank you so much for this kind review. We loved meeting you and paddling down the river. Hope to see you back!
This is one of our favorite things we did while we were in Costa Rica. It's an incredibly beautiful area that you paddle through with two species of mangroves. We saw lots of birds and a crocodile. The mouth of the Montana river is a really beautiful place. Further up steam the river comes close to the ocean with only a beach separating the two. We arrived at high tide and saw a couple waves crash over the beach into the river. Our guide was knowledgeable and pleasant. We paddled slowly trying to take it all in.
Thank you kindly for the review, we love to hear that it was one of your favourite experiences in Costa Rica. Come back for the waterfall!
The only reason I gave this a 1 star review is because I didn't go on the trip. I signed up for it through TripAdvisor and never received a confirmation. TripAdvisor canceled the reservation, because it was never confirmed. I was disappointed. This was one of the things I was looking forward to on my trip.
Dear Joann, you did not experience our business or anyone in it whatsoever, did not take a tour, did not call, email, message or come into our in person location and did not even receive a confirmation that you had any sort of booking with us ... yet you come to our business page leaving a 1 star review affecting 4 years of hard work? Even after seeing almost 100 positive and friendly reviews here, you still decide to leave yours after never even interacting with any of our employees. Thats a terrible and malicious thing to do on your part...
