Kaş Kekova-boottocht van een hele dag

Onze boot is houten boot. We maken boottochten in Kekova, maar die van ons is een beetje anders. Onze boot heeft eigenlijk een capaciteit van 45 personen, maar we nemen er maximaal 35 mee. Want zodra het druk wordt, verdwijnt die ontspannen, plezierige sfeer – en dat is precies wat we willen vermijden. De meeste boten in het gebied gaan uit met 80-100 mensen. We houden het liever rustig en comfortabel. Geen muziek op de boot. Stel je een dag voor waar iedereen genoeg ruimte heeft, en je zonder haast van het uitzicht kunt genieten... dat is precies de ervaring die we willen bieden. Kortom, als u op zoek bent naar een rustigere en plezierigere tour in plaats van een drukke, bent u op de juiste plek. Onze lunch is heerlijk, vers en lokale mezes gemaakt door kapitein vrouw. Onze toeristische Gids zal zijn op de tour en geven alle info aan u over de regio.

We rijden in 45 minuten met de dienst naar het dorp Üçağız en halen onze boot in de haven van Üçağız.
We stoppen voor een zwempauze in deze baai gedurende 45 minuten. Je kunt onder water duidelijk zien.
Tweede zwempunt is de baai van Tersane. SunkenCity en gezonken ruïnes beginnen vanuit deze baai. Dus we stoppen voor 45 minuten en zwemmen pauze over de verzonken ruïnes. Onze toeristengids vertelt de geschiedenis van deze baai.
Na de baai van Tersane varen we naar sunkencity. Onze boot vaart langzaam en de toeristische gids geeft informatie over de stad en haar geschiedenis. Het duurt ongeveer 40 minuten. We konden daar niet zwemmen.
Op dit eiland zien we de grot. Het wordt piratengrot genoemd. we stoppen slechts 5 minuten voor de grot en bekijken de binnenkant van de grot en maken foto's.
Achter het eiland Aşırlı ligt een prachtige baai genaamd Gökkaya Bay. We stoppen hier voor lunchpauze en zwemmen. De lunch is een open buffet en 5 verschillende lokale koude mezes gemaakt van olijfolie en kapiteinsvrouw. Ook bieden wij kip barbecue. Voor en na de lunch heb je tijd om te zwemmen.
Tegenover het eiland Kekova ligt een baai die Burç-baai wordt genoemd. Je kunt er zwemmen met koud bronwater dat onder de zee komt. We bieden Turkse thee aan deze baai.
We stoppen bij Simena (kasteeldorp) voor een bezoek aan het kasteel en het mooie dorp. We hebben tijd om te zwemmen en het dorp te bezoeken. Er is geen weg voor auto's naar het dorp. Unieke manier om over zee te bereiken.
Een andere baai is de eilandbaai in de regio Kekova. We stoppen om te zwemmen en bieden fruit aan (meestal watermeloen)
We keren per boot terug naar het dorp Üçağız en halen de service. Rijd terug naar Kaş

We were somewhat disappointed by this excursion overall. We were particularly looking forward to seeing the sunken city of Kekova, but unfortunately, you don't really get to see much of it. The boat passes by very quickly, and visibility from the boat is quite limited. We also felt that the itinerary could be better planned. There were perhaps too many stops, with too much time spent at some locations and not enough at others. In addition, many boats tend to stop at the same places at the same time, which makes the experience feel quite crowded. The water was not as clear in some areas, and with so many boats around, it unfortunately gave the impression that the water was somewhat polluted. The boat itself was also quite crowded, which took away from the relaxing aspect of the excursion. That being said, the captain, staff and the guide were all very attentive and kind throughout the day, which made a real difference. They were genuinely welcoming and did their best to make sure everyone was comfortable. For that reason alone, we still consider it a nice excursion overall, despite the aspects that could be improved.

Regarding the Sunken City, the visible remains are quite limited, with most of them located in the shallow coastal area of Kekova Island. Boats cannot pass very close to the ruins due to the risk of damaging the remains, so the view from the boat can naturally be limited. Our tour is also designed as a boat and swimming tour, which is why the itinerary includes several swimming stops. Since you joined us in August, one of the busiest periods in the region, some popular bays can be crowded. Despite this, we operate at around 70% capacity and always try to choose the quieter bays whenever possible. The tour is exactly what it mentions on the page. The boat was comfortable and had plenty of seating to enjoy the views. Sometimes, it was hard to understand the tour guide's English, but that didn't prevent learning about the sunken city. Drinks are not included, so ensure you bring cash to buy beers or others.

Absolutely brilliant trip and we would highly recommend it on all fronts. We were picked up from and dropped off at our hotel which was fantastic and then had the loveliest day on the boat with lots of opportunities for snorkelling and a delicious lunch. Our hosts were charming and knowledgeable. We saw other boats which were jam packed with people and were so grateful that ours was limited to 35 which meant we had ample space to relax and enjoy the day. Fabulous!

A nice experience visiting beautiful corners of the coast near Kas on a boat. Ruins of Lycian and Roman cities and stops to swim in beautiful areas of the coast and nearby small islands. The guide Turgham was charming and surprised us since he knew some Spanish. The tour is highly recommended and at a very good price.
