Deze dagtour brengt je naar de 3 vastelandattracties van Krabi. Beklim de 1.237 treden naar de top van Tiger Cave Temple en geniet van een indrukwekkend uitzicht op de kustlijn van de Andamanse Zee. Bekijk de natuurlijke warmwaterbron bij Klong Thom en trek naar het natuurlijke bad van de Crystal Pool met een verfrissende duik in de vijver.

Tijdens deze dagtour ziet u de 3 belangrijkste attracties van de Krabi-jungle: Wat Tahm Suea (de Tiger Cave-tempel), Sra Morakot (de Emerald Pool) en de natuurlijke warmwaterbron. Eerst bezoek je de Tiger Cave Temple, toepasselijk genoemd vanwege de rotsgroei in de buurt die lijkt op een tijgerklauw. Gelegen op ongeveer 3 kilometer van Krabi, staat de tempel bekend als een centrum voor meditatie en de spectaculaire omgeving in het Ao Luk Thanu-gebergte biedt de nodige stille atmosfeer voor meditatie. Ongeveer 250 monniken en monialen leven op dit moment in de tempels. De belangrijkste vihara (sanctum sanctorum) bevindt zich in een kleine ondiepe kalksteengrot, waar de wanden door cellen worden bekleed. Het gebied is goed verlicht en zeer goed onderhouden om de sereniteit van de omgeving te behouden. Hier kun je de heuvels beklimmen door 1 van de 2 passages te nemen. Eén passage brengt je 1.239 treden naar de heuveltop en de andere is slechts 130 treden omhoog om een plek te bereiken waar monniken in hun kleine huisjes wonen. Het indrukwekkende uitzicht rondom is de moeite waard om de heuvel op te gaan. Het hele gebied is vol met grotten en kalkstenen rotsformaties. Archeologen hebben overblijfselen gevonden van oude huizen die zo oud zijn als uit de steentijd. Steenwerktuigen, scherven van aardewerk en kralen en afgoden van klei zijn allemaal opgegraven die getuigen van het culturele erfgoed van het gebied. Je trekt ook door de jungle naar de Emerald Pool / Crystal Lagoon, een zwembad met zoet water in het natuurreservaat Khao Phra Bang Khram. De wateren van deze 120 vierkante meter grote vijver krijgen een groene tint dankzij een overvloed aan mineralen uit de kalkstenen heuvels in de omgeving. Het kristalheldere water is niet geschikt om te drinken en voelt dik aan vanwege het hoge calciumcarbonaatgehalte dat galsteen kan veroorzaken. Hier kunt u een duik nemen om te ontsnappen aan de hitte van de dag en de stroom bewonderen, een van de bronnen van het zwembad, die aan één kant tuimelt over stenen die zijn afgezet met minerale afzettingen. Een ander natuurwonder dat je op deze tour zult zien, is de natuurlijke warmwaterbron in Krabi. In het bos, ongeveer 40 kilometer ten zuiden van Krabi, ligt Klong Thom Waterfall. Hoewel de waterval zelf slechts een cascade is die zachtjes maar een paar meter valt, is het uniek dat het bronwater dat het voedt uit de aarde borrelt bij een temperatuur van meer dan 50 graden Celsius. Het koelt een beetje af terwijl het naar de waterval stroomt en je kunt in de rustige stroom beneden zwemmen voor een veel koeler bad. route: 07:45 - 09:20 uur: ophalen van het hotel in Krabi 09:20 - 10:10: rij met de minibus naar Klong Thom 10:10 - 11:10: Ontspan en zwem in de natuurlijke warmwaterbron 11:15 - 11:30 uur: ga verder naar Crystal Pool 11:30 - 13:30 uur: zwem in de natuurlijke vijver van Sra Morakot (Emerald Pool) 13.30 - 14.00 uur: lunch in een restaurant 14:00 - 14:30 uur: ga naar Tiger Cave Temple 14.30 - 16.30 uur: bezoek Wat Tahm Suea en maak een wandeling naar de top 16:30 - 16:50: transfer naar hotel

Great experience, the hot springs are very relaxing and the blue lagoon is very nice. The emerald pool if it's too full. Tiger temple is beautiful and a great experience but not recommended for people without fitness

The hot springs were great as we had private access only to share with one other group. The emerald pool was horrendous. Our guide had warned us it would be busy, but it was crazy busy and just not the beautiful natural waters we had been promised.
Many water points do not make very natural especially the one where you swim! The guide very smiling and available, ensures his follow-up, the driver coming although discreet. The temple is a good physical exercise rewarded by sight.
A little to much for one day, very little time each place. Beautiful destinations though, I would recommend taking either the pools or tiger temple in one day trip. Also feels a little silly, that there is an additional fee for entering the tiger tempel, since its under construction so you can't! It also wasnt possible to walk the mountain because of bad weather when arriving to the tiger temple, but that not the guides fault ofcourse, she recommended to go there early morning instead.

Really liked the lady tour guide in the taxi, but besides that it was just a taxi taking you to these places. There was no guide/tour, it was just visiting those places all by yourself. Also skip the hot springs. If you are from Europe I recommend going to Center Parks or Landal swimmingpool for an better experience

Crystal pool and hot springs were so crowded that we skipped it and just walk around. It just didn't feel nice to sit in a small hot spring with plenty of other people. Tiger temple was the last thing we visited. It was very hot day and we didn't have enough time to visit the temple, because it is very high on a mountain and the only way to get there is by stairs. So we missed that one. Beware of the monkeys who like to steal your stuff! But they were still very cute and fun to watch
Dear Liis Thanks for your valuable review. You did the tour in Feb 2020 during peak/high season with not only Western visitors but also many Thai people coming to Krabi this time. If you visit the Crystal Pool and Hot Springs now after Covid-19 pandemic, this is a totally different experience with much less tourists. The Tiger Cave Temple consists of different sites, the temple itself on the ground floor, the viewpoint on top of a mountain with approx. 1200 steps and some hidden caves in the forest (where the monks reside) which can be easily reached on foot in 10 minutes. This is a sightseeing and active eco-tour giving a complete picture of Krabi, a typical province of SEE, excluding the Andaman Sea. Everywhere a little bit, you get exhausted by the pleasure of the "picture" that has developed by the evening about what is in the visited territory: mountain caves, buda temples, lakes-waterfalls, hot springs, jungle... You must bring: swimming aids, protective equipment against blood suckers and sun, comfortable shoes, clothes hiding bare shoulders and knees when visiting temples... It would be nice to still be young and healthy or trained for outdoor activities... First you are steamed in thirty degrees heat in natural hot springs: shallow natural cavities filled with hot water and people, the cascading waterfall passes into a pond, where there is a platform with similarities and tarzanki. Changing rooms are apparently somewhere, but recommend not changing and putting a towel under the wet move to the next stop. It's a long, half-running journey through the trails in the jungle of National Park. Chic views: turbulent interweavings of bright vegetation, mangroves, a wild lake with crystal clear water and a dazzling blue bottom due to copper mineralization. And finally, a big lake with karst pistes and waterfalls to bathe in. Here for a swim, change and the next item... It's a place of worship and religion that needs to be dedicated not for 1.5 hours, but all day. A few points to view: the temple cave, on the third level behind the bars the sacred trail of the Tiger strewn with offering money; a large area with several temple complexes, a waterfall and a swimming pool with a mass of wild monkeys descending from the mountain in search of food from wandering tourists - not recommended to feed! You can walk around the mountain on the right: a small climb and descent into a couple of terraces, there are monks' houses in the jungle, there are many cells in the mountain, beyond the great Buddha with a mass of offerings, a dummy and the skeleton of the Righteous, and an open-air refectory. And also right uphill many terraces for relaxation, steep 1260 steps and when climbing you need to calculate the forces on the descent. But those who opened from the height of beauty are worth it: the golden Buddha and many more smaller ones, the view from the height. And pride in conquering the tallest statue in Krabi province. We have to catch the tour bus and not get caught in the squeal of the waiting company of strange satellites! Good luck and thinking about what's been overcome.
