Het bos van Jozani is een eclectische biodiversiteit, met veel vreemde en prachtige dieren die er wonen. Het bos is de thuisbasis van de enkele overgebleven rode colobus-apen ter wereld die de beroemdste bewoners van het bos zijn. Ze spelen vrij door het reservaat en ze kunnen op korte afstand worden gezien. U zult ook genieten van de frisse lucht tijdens het wandelen door de grote rode mahoniebomen en eucalyptus. Met een beetje geluk ziet u Sunnis (klein hert), kameleon of zelfs de beroemde Turaco-vogel van Zanzibar Fischer !! Later na de aap maak je een wandeling over een mangrovepromenade om verschillende soorten mangroven te bezoeken die op het eiland beschikbaar zijn. Verschillende soorten zeeleven zijn te zien en veel meer bosbewoners zijn mogelijk met scherpe ogen te zien! Na de rondleiding keert u terug naar het hotel.

Expensive for the experience, not well organized tbh, but ok. We felt that as we were only 2 people, they were in a hurry to finish and take a bigger group (more tips)

The drive from our hotel was interesting because we passed so many interesting villages, schools, and markets. Excellent driver. I really liked the park ranger who gave us the tour through the forest. I could tell he is committed to conservation. I recommend going in the morning. The monkeys are more active then. We did not opt for the night tour but it sounded interesting.
We had a great time on the Jozani forest tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and shared so much information and history with us, and getting to see the monkeys at play, up close and personal was an amazing experience.
This is not a criticism of the good guide, the pick-up service and the tour itself were well organized and very informative. Unfortunately it was shorter than stated, we would have liked to have spent much longer in the forest. We also had to pay $50 extra for the pick-up service. Overall, the price-performance ratio is rather poor. So we have a very good and friendly guide (1) combined with a 6 in price. Overall, a satisfactory rating!

Jozani is a must visit when traveling to Zanzibar, particularly with Halisi Tours (and Hamza is their top guide!). The monkeys were fascinating to watch and learn about, as was the mango grove. An extraordinary nature experience close to Stone Town.

Halisi Africa Tours is the best company I have found on the island of Zanzibar. We visited Jozani Forest and mangrove with our guide Hamza for a half day tour and loved it. The company goes beyond normal tour agencies and makes you feel like family. We loved seeing the Red Colobus monkeys, walking through the beautiful forests of mahogany, strangler fig, and Eucalyptus and dropping early seedlings into the mangrove. Highly recommend this lovely visit with Halisi Tours!
