Ontdek de "Jodenbuurt" (de Joodse wijk) en de beroemdste en belangrijkste gebouwen voor de Amsterdamse Joodse gemeenschap door de eeuwen heen. Luister naar het verhaal over het lijden, maar ook over het heldhaftige verzet dat werd gesteund door lokale Amsterdammers tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Laat me je meer vertellen over de geschiedenis van joodse gemeenschappen in Nederland en hoe deze stad en het hele land veel typisch joodse kenmerken accepteerde en absorbeerde die onderdeel werden van de alledaagse taal, keuken als voorbeelden van groot samenleven. Kom meer en meer te weten over het soort leven, geheime schuilplaats, solidariteit, dagboek van het jonge tienermeisje Anne tijdens de nazi-Duitse bezetting van Amsterdam en hoor meer over het economisch belang en de invloed van joodse investeringen op ontwikkeling binnen de Gouden Eeuw van Mokum (joodse naam voor Amsterdam) binnen de 17e eeuw.

Twee gebouwen, twee holocaustmusea, twee verwante monumenten die een verontrustend verhaal vertellen over het lijden, rampen en genocide van één bevolkingsgroep, maar tegelijkertijd plaatsen waar menselijke moed en onbaatzuchtigheid tot uiting kwamen. BELANGRIJKE GEGEVENS !!! Gebouw Hollandsche Schouwburg alias Dutch Theatre en Holocaust Memorial gebouw in aanbouw tot 2024. Zelfs als het niet mogelijk is om het interieur van deze musea te bezoeken, worden ze beschouwd als stoppunten van deze tour. Geschiedenis, betekenis en achtergrond van deze gebouwen zijn nauw verbonden met de Holocaust. De persoonlijke mening van uw gids is dat het op zijn minst interessant zou zijn om het verhaal en de feiten over hen te horen, geïllustreerd door de persoonlijke fotocollectie van (de gids). Aanvullende informatie over het einde van de reconstructie van gebouwen en de beschikbaarheid om ze te bezoeken, zou worden verstrekt.
Museum over het verleden en heden van het joodse leven in Nederland. Het museum is gehuisvest in een groep van 4 historische Asjkenazische synagogen. Dit is de prijs voor een combiticket voor het Joods Historisch Museum en de Portugese Synagoge (Snoge / Esnoga)
Alias Snoge of Esnoga is een synagoge van de Sefardische joden uit 1675, een van de twee oudste synagogen van deze joodse ethische groep in Europa (samen met de Grote Synagoge in Praag, Tsjechië) die nog steeds in gebruik is.
Het standbeeld van de havenarbeider is een monument ter ere van het protest van havenarbeiders tegen het antisemitische beleid van de nazi-bezetters en de eerste deportaties van joden naar het concentratiekamp in Mauthausen op 24 februari 1941
Katholieke kerk uit de 19e eeuw eens woonplaats Joodse filosoof Baruch Spinoza en zijn familie.
Museum, werkplaats en winkel van een van de beroemdste diamanten familiebedrijven ter wereld. Er zijn gratis rondleidingen van 20 minuten met een lokale bedrijfsgids beschikbaar
De Uilenburger synagoge is een historisch monument in rococostijl, opgericht in 1766 voor Asjkenazische joden.
Het in 1603 gebouwde huis behoorde ooit toe aan de rijke joodse koopman Isaac de Pinto.
Het Rembrandthuis is een herenhuis uit de 17e eeuw dat eigendom was van de beroemde Nederlandse schilder Rembrandt van Rijn, waar hij woonde van 1639 tot 1658. Het leven en werk van de grote kunstenaar was vanaf de 17e eeuw sterk verbonden met de joodse gemeenschap in Amsterdam.

Amsterdammer, de afstammeling van een prominente Portugees-joodse familie, een van de grootste filosofen in de Europese geschiedenis vanaf de 17e eeuw, voorloper van het pantheïsme, relatief onbekend in de tijd dat hij leefde, maar een grote "beïnvloeder" van moderne filosofische doctrines.
Monument Joods Verzet is een monument dat is opgericht ter nagedachtenis aan alle Joodse verzetsstrijders die zijn omgekomen in de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
Museumhuis, onderduikadres 13 jaar oud Joods meisjesgezin twee jaar binnen WO2. Plaats waar ze een wereldwijd beroemd dagboek aan het schrijven was waarin ze emotionele momenten beschreef in een geheime schuilplaats in het bijgebouw aan de achterkant van het huis, samen met een ander Joods gezin. - De rondleiding duurt minimaal 3,5 uur, dus klanten met beperkte mobiliteit moeten hier rekening mee houden. De loopsnelheid kon worden aangepast en aangepast aan de klanten en in overleg konden ook vaker (5-10 minuten) pauzes worden ingelast.

It seemed like the amount of Jewish history was sporadic. But in fairness we did not complete the whole tour. We did not hate it, but we did not love it either. The guide did buy the Anne Frank house tickets for us, and met us outside after our tour of the house.
Dear customer, the tour was interrupted ( and not completed) up on your request due imobility of one of participants to move further and finally finish it. That was, at least your explanation... I would very appreciate ( and because of my self and next potential customers) to specify what was good and wat was "less good" regarding my tour, things you hear about it and spots we visited. The museum is next to the house, buy tickets in advance. In front of the museum there is a place where buying the boat ride along the canals is worth 17 euros.

We had a very exceptional Guide called Edwin. He took us through the old city of Amsterdam and told us with great detail and great historical precision. The history of the Jews in this city. Nothing was left to chance and we are very grateful to him for that.

Alex is the most amazing tour guide I have met. He hasn't only introduced us to Amsterdam, but to the European culture. I contacted him before my very first trip to Europe since I received his contact info from my friend. My Friend insured me that Alex is the right person to know in Europe. Alex was their guide few years ago and she couldn’t stop taking how interesting, knowledgeable and personable he was. Right from the beginning he helped me to prep for the tour since Amsterdam was our first stop in Europe. He made sure that we arrived safely and guided us all the way during our trip even after we left Amsterdam. He opened our eyes so much in a very short time. We explored Jewish and not Jewish Amsterdam. His kind attitude and willingness to help, welcome and teach about history is striking. There were no tickets for Anna Frank Museum, but Alex made sure we visited this important place for not only Jews but whole entire world. He guided us through all the Jewish landmarks in Amsterdam and we learnt about 400 years of successful Jewish community in Amsterdam. I felt like I belong to Amsterdam just because Alex’s guidance. In a nutshell, Aleks saved the day! My husband and I were on a Viking river cruise from Bruges to our final stop Amsterdam. Having only one day in Amsterdam, we had so many things we wanted to see, and Aleks helped to make that happen. He was super human in customizing the tour to fit our time constraint and flexible in dealing with last-minute changes. He really knows his way around the city and we used public transportation (which added to the fun of getting from point A to B) You can tell he loves what he does, and is very kind, knowledgeable, versatile, patient and has seemingly endless energy Upon our request, He led us to a wonderful grocery store along the way for quick healthy grab and go snacks. Aleks was very respectful, considering the solemn subject matter of the memorials and gave us time to process and reflect. At the end of our tour, He personally escorted us to the front lobby of the Anne Frank house, as we had tickets that we bought 6 weeks previously on the Anne Frank house website PS don’t forget to do this if you are planning to visit Amsterdam in the near future…it must be six weeks out on a Tuesday morning 10 AM Amsterdam time but if you miss your chance, don’t worry check back every day to the website and you might get lucky we have friends that did… Aleks, we want to thank you again for the quality time spent together and the lasting memories created. Alex was an excellent guide in Amsterdam . My wife and I visited for three days to learn more about the Jewish Resistance and Anne Frank during WWII. Alex purchased tickets to the Anne Frank house for us which are very difficult to find if you don’t purchase them months in advance. He met us as we exited the Frank house and took us to the Jewish Quarter and shared the history of the area as well as the history of Amsterdam about which he was very knowledgeable. He was a wealth of information about the history of the city; took us to places that were not on the usual tourist route (because they were on the smaller back streets that the tour buses can’t access) and then showed us an out-of-the-way pub for beer. We knew it was going to be a good experience when he initiated contact with us more than a month before our arrival and stayed in touch until we parted. I highly recommend him for tours of Amsterdam and any of the other cities that he guides in Europe. Thanks Alex!!

Aleks conducted himself professionally, punctually, knowledgeable, sincere, trusting, understanding, and caring. As an example, he was able to obtain tickets for us for the Anne Frank House Tour which was of optimal importance to us. He was amazing. His knowledge of history, and the ins and outs of life in Amsterdam were very interesting and helped us navigate our 3 days in Amsterdam. This was very important, specially being 4 women in a new city. We made contact with him days before our trip and he was able to guide us as to the weather, etc, which made us decide on the best clothes and items to take to Amsterdam and for our entire river trip.
