De op een na mooiste boekenwinkel ter wereld: een oud theater dat werd omgebouwd tot een boekenwinkel. Een vooraanstaand Brits tijdschrift noemde het tweede in de 2008-lijst van de tien beste boekhandels ter wereld. Als je gewoon dit voormalige grote theater binnenstapt, ben je adembenemend. Indrukwekkende gebouwen met verschillende architecturale stijlen (waaronder art nouveau).
Een enorme Victoriaanse structuur waar veel mensen naar kijken en verwonderd kijken: Een fantastisch paleis van meer dan 300.000 glanzende, veelkleurige tegels en geglazuurde en geëmailleerde bakstenen. Een ongelooflijk groot winkelcentrum dat ooit de centrale groothandelsmarkt voor groenten en fruit van de stad was. Het originele art deco-gebouw en -structuur blijven grotendeels onaangeroerd. Het gebied van Carlos Gardel - de beroemdste tangozanger in de geschiedenis -: gevels en winkels bedekt met kunstwerken "fileteado". Een creatieve kunst, uniek in zijn soort, vol met levendig gekleurde ornamenten en symmetrieën die een UNESCO immaterieel cultureel erfgoed van de mensheid werd. De schilderstijl geassocieerd met Buenos Aires die veel te maken heeft met tango en die sinds het begin van de 20e eeuw deel uitmaakt van de cultuur van de Porteños (inwoners van Buenos Aires). . Verwacht ook creatieve straatkunst en muurschilderingen, geschilderd door lokale kunstenaars, een tango-kleding- en schoenenwinkel, voor een onvergetelijke ervaring. Deze tour bevat ongewoon bezochte stadsoriëntatiepunten die afwijken van uw typische toeristische locaties. This is an outstanding tour. I visit Buenos Aires frequently, but this is really a tour that takes you to places very typical and different to the regular tours. Elisa is very knowledge of the history, architecture and art of Buenos Aires. You will end the tour enriched visually and with knowledge not shared in the regular tours.

The title is a great description. It was great to see & experience less ‘touristy’ areas. The guide was great. She had lots of history and knowledge of the city, architecture and art culture.

We'd taken and were powerfully moved by Elisa's In the Footsteps of Dictatorship tour, and decided to sign up as well, to this tour, which is a more general tourist tour explaining local history, and looking at some really cool institutions and neighborhoods. Definitely worthwhile. If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the Footsteps of Dictatorship tour, but glad we ended up doing both as Elisa is super knowledgeable about the country's history, art, politics and all other aspects.

This was a WONDERFUL tour and absolutely a great highlight of my time in BA. Elisa showed us the city through her eyes, architecture, art, history, culture, tango, all while using her own unique humour and personal flair. What I liked about this tour so much is that is was real and unique, not a standard tour you can find anywhere, this was something very special and personal.
