Beschrijving
Doe mee met onze wandeltocht door Jeruzalem voor de minst veeleisende, over het algemeen uitgebreide en meest waardevolle aanpak om deze buitenaardse stad te vinden. Onze tour bezoekt de bezienswaardigheden in de scheidingslijnen van de oude stad, waaronder de Tempelberg, de Westelijke Muur, de zwembaden van Bethesda, Via Dolorosa, de kerk van het Heilig Graf en meer. Eindelijk bezoek je de roepende, veelgeprezen Arabische markt in de oude stad, waar lokale mensen en reizigers elkaar ontmoeten om de smaken en geuren te absorberen van alles wat deze bekende markt met zich meebrengt.

De Cardo was de hoofdstraat van Jeruzalem in de oude Romeinse tijd.
De brede muur is een oude verdedigingsmuur gebouwd rond Jeruzalem.
Het centrum van de Joodse wereld, de Westelijke Muur, is de heiligste plaats van het jodendom en de bedevaartplaats voor miljoenen toeristen per jaar.
Als je ons van tevoren belt is het mogelijk om de Western Wall Tunnels toe te voegen; we boeken het voor je (minimaal een week van tevoren) voor een toeslag van 35 NIS per persoon die we boeken voor na onze wandeltocht
De zuidelijke muur aan het zuidelijke einde van de Tempelberg werd gebouwd tijdens koning Herodes; het opgravingen vandaag zijn een van de belangrijkste toeristische bezienswaardigheden van Jeruzalem.
Tijdens de tour zullen we de Tempelberg bekijken.
Het Cenakel, ook bekend als de Bovenkamer, was de eerste christelijke kerk in Jeruzalem en wordt traditioneel beschouwd als de kamer van het laatste avondmaal.
Het graf van koning David, gelegen naast het Cenakel, is een plaats die wordt beschouwd als de begraafplaats van David.
De poel van Bethesda was een poel in Jeruzalem waar volgens het Nieuwe Testament Jezus een verlamde man genas.
Via Dolorosa, of de kruisweg, is een processieroute in de oude stad van Jeruzalem die traditioneel wordt beschouwd als het pad van Jezus op weg naar zijn kruisiging.
De kerk van het Heilig Graf is de heiligste plaats van het christendom, gebouwd op de plaats waar Jezus werd gekruisigd (de Golgotha).
We verlaten via de kleurrijke Arabische markt in de oude stad van Jeruzalem.

A group of 7 of us last minute booked a walking tour of Jerusalem the night before our day trip to the holy city, and man are we glad we did. The price is unbeatable and booking was incredibly simple. Our tour guide Harley was beyond knowledgeable and incredibly personable. We were immediately at ease with his professional but jocular presence. The value of having a tour guide who used to be an archeologist in the region cannot be overstated. The tour was perfectly paced for all of us - succinct enough that it never felt boring and beyond informative. Absolutely recommend booking with this crew!

We had a great tour with Harley who was very knowledgeable and gave an interesting perspective on the area as a retired archeologist. The tour covered a nice range of sights. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the way of the cross and the Western Wall were particularly interesting to us. What we particularly liked were the points of information along the route such as showing us Jordan in the distance, the different trees, why Starbucks was never a success in Israel, just little things like that while walking along. We would definitely recommend taking a tour like this to better understand and experience such a historically and culturally rich area.

In depth archeological tour by Harley. He was fantastic, so knowledgeable and pointed out things we never would have noticed from invasive capers to recognizing herodian stone. Harley is delightful and made us feel like residents rather than tourists. We enjoyed the western wall tour as an add on, thank you!!! We’ve done walking tours on other visits and Harley made this THE BEST EVER. This is one tour you should not miss, no matter how many times you visit Jerusalem!

Harley is a very knowledgeable guide. I was able to customize my tour in advance (for an extra fee) to see the underground tunnels by the Western Wall, the City of David, and the tomb of King David, all of which had not been covered during my previous tour of Jerusalem. From what I understand, tickets for the underground Western Wall tunnels need to be secured days in advance by the company.
