Deze tour stelt je in staat Jeruzalem te zien vanuit het perspectief van meerdere culturen en religies. We kunnen de stad op uw tempo doorkruisen en zien de sites die u het meest interesseren. Ik zou deze tour graag voor u willen personaliseren op basis van uw behoeften. De oude stad van Jeruzalem is gevuld met cultuur, geluiden en smaken, mensen en betekenis. Zwervend deze stad met een open geest kan je ertoe brengen om dingen te ontdekken die je nooit hebt gekend, over de stad en over jezelf.

Wat moslims Al-Aksa noemen en Joden de Tempelberg noemen, zou omschreven kunnen worden als de verbinding tussen Hemel en Aarde. Het is de plaats van de Rotskoepel en de al-Aksa Moskee, en daar stonden de Tempels van Salomo en Herodes. Deze plek vertegenwoordigt waar christenen, joden en moslims zich de vrede voorstellen die ons allemaal in de toekomst wacht.
Dit is de meest geaccepteerde site voor de kruisiging en opstanding van Jezus. Het is gevuld met kapellen en artefacten die de verhalen vertellen van Jezus, zijn volgelingen en gelovigen die het christendom door de eeuwen heen hebben gevormd. Recente restauraties bieden de mogelijkheid om verbluffende en kleurrijke kunstwerken te zien, scènes die eeuwenlang onder het stof verborgen zijn gebleven.
Er zijn drie verschillende delen van de Westelijke Muur, het centrum van Joodse heiligheid gedurende bijna 8 eeuwen. The Hidden Wall helpt je begrijpen wat deze muur betekende voor Joden vanaf het moment dat het gebed daar begon in de 13e eeuw. Ezrat Yisrael (het geslachtsgemixte gebied van de Westelijke Muur) stelt je in staat om te begrijpen hoe deze muur verbonden is met de Tempel, Gods huis op aarde. De traditionele Westelijke Muur (geslachts gescheiden) stelt je in staat om te zien hoe modern Israël en zijn mensen zich verbinden met deze heilige plek, een beeld dat de uitdagingen en conflicten binnen het Joodse geloof naar voren brengt.
Dit is een optionele locatie tijdens de tour: de berg Sion is een wijk vol raadsels. Alleen al de naam is verwarrend. We zullen zowel de Zaal van het Laatste Avondmaal als het Graf van Koning David bezoeken en bespreken of dit de echte locaties zijn. De discussie zelf over de geldigheid van deze heilige plaatsen, evenals de Dormition Church die ernaast ligt, brengt kleurrijke verhalen naar voren over joden, christenen en moslims die zichzelf proberen te definiëren in een steeds veranderende wereld.
Dit is een facultatieve plaats op de tour : Het oorspronkelijke Jeruzalem, gebouwd door een kleine zoetwaterbron, lag net ten zuiden van de huidige oude stadsmuren. In dit kleine dorp creëerden de Kanaänieten een uniek systeem van tunnels en muren om hun watervoorziening te beschermen. Deze structuren komen voor in de verhalen van de Bijbelse koning David en zijn nakomelingen. We zullen deze grotten doorkruisen en de verhalen van koningen, paleizen, veldslagen, begrafenissen en wonderen verkennen. Gary is an outstanding guide. Gary is deeply knowledgeable, has great stories, speaks clearly and obviously loves his work. We walked around Jerusalem’s Old City for three hours and the time flew by. Let me preface this by saying that Gary is a 10/10 tour guide! We had so much fun with him on our little tour of the Old City in Jerusalem. We arrived a little late due to some issue with the rail in Jerusalem on that day, and though he could have easily walked away, he was waiting for us with a huge smile! He then took us around the Old City, showed us some great sights, and gave us some great pointers on where to get amazing food. Gary has got a knack for telling stories. Jerusalem, and especially the Old City, is riddled with history, and the way he tells the stories makes it all feel so alive and exciting. It’s interesting, and you just want to know more. I decided to take a Solo trip to the Holy Land just out of sheer curiosity. I came with 0 expectations and boy am I extremely grateful Gary was my guide. Firstly, there will be a crash course of history and you better be ready because it is absolutely important in understanding the holy city. Gary gave me the best highlighted facts with a thorough timeline. He provided stories of all the cultural diversity, and the most important aspect is that he was UNBIASED when explaining the diverse religions. I also had some questions of my own and he answered always without judgement and provided an informative answer. You can tell he's knowledgeable of the city and I was inspired by his passion to inform. He also gave me the best spot for Hummus which I believe was the best I've ever had.
