Onze jazztour wordt begeleid door lokale muzikanten, choreografen, producenten en regisseurs die deel uitmaken van de New Orleans Artist-gemeenschap. Het zijn ook autochtonen, mondelinge historici, culturele ambassadeurs en natuurbeschermers. Ga met ons mee en ontdek de evolutie van de muziek in de stad die bekend staat als 'de geboorteplaats van de jazz'. De thuisbasis van Louis Armstrong, Buddy Bolden, Sidney Bechet, Louis Prima en Sharkey Bonano om er maar een paar te noemen. . Je wordt langs de laatst overgebleven locaties geleid waar jazz, champagne en romantiek de boventoon voerden. Leer meer over de mensen, de geschiedenis en de invloeden die hebben bijgedragen aan de ontwikkeling van Amerika's enige geschenk aan de wereldcultuur... Jazz!

De tour begint in Louis Armstrong Park. De reizigers bezoeken de eerste pioniers van jazzmonumenten en de eerste danszalen waar jazz hoogtij viert. Ze horen de verhalen van Jazzpioniers zoals; Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Charles "Buddy" Bolden en andere jazziconen.
De reizen bezoeken het New Orleans Jazz Museum of het eerste Jazz museum in het St. Pierre Hotel waar de GREAT Louis Armstrong verbleef toen hij optrad in New Orleans.
De reizigers zullen de heilige gronden van Congo Square verkennen, waar naar verluidt de oorsprong van de jazz werd ontdekt, en zullen getuige zijn van de oudste Afro-Amerikaanse wijk van het land, Treme.
De reizigers zullen ook live jazzmuziek ervaren in een van de meest populaire en muzikale straten van New Orleans, "Frenchmen Street".

My wife and I were the only ones on tour. Learned a lot about New Orleans jazz and its beginnings. Viewed present Jazz Museum and site of new one being built. I wanted to visit some actual clubs and hear jazz if only for 10 to 15 minutes at each club.
Good Day, Hope you enjoyed your Jazz Tour experience. Unfortunately we do not do a Jazz club crawl our focus is on the pioneers, historical sites, and landmarks. We do hope Harris was able to point you to and recommend Jazz clubs and venues.

Harris was an amazing tour guide! Very personable and inspiring. He knew all the hot spots to go to see live music. His after the tour text had all the stuff we talked about and a lot of useful information. The only thing I wish we did, not negative, was to do the tour when we first go here, not the night before we left. 😊 (we will just have to go to the places he mentioned in the tour on our next visit)
