Verrassend genoeg heeft dit gebouw de originele houten brouwerijstructuur behouden die ongeveer 200 jaar geleden werd gebouwd. Op de binnenplaats is er een bron waaruit je Fushimizu kunt drinken, het water dat wordt gebruikt bij het brouwen van sake. Net als Fushimi's sake is het ongelooflijk zacht en heerlijk, dus probeer het eens. U zult zeker versteld staan van de zachtheid ervan. In de tentoonstellingsruimte kun je traditionele sake-brouwgereedschappen bekijken die door de stad Kyoto zijn aangewezen als tastbare volksculturele bezittingen. De speciale sakebeker van Gekkeikan Sake Brewery met een proeverij van drie Japanse sake-monsters inbegrepen.
Er is een opstapplaats voor een plezierboot genaamd "Jikokubune". Vanaf de Edo-periode tot het einde van de Meiji-periode speelde dit schip een actieve rol als logistiek knooppunt dat Fushimi en Osaka met elkaar verbond. Destijds duurde het zeven uur per boot om mensen, sake en rijst van Fushimi naar Osaka te vervoeren. De tour eindigt bij de aanlegsteiger. De gids zal u helpen bij het kopen van een kaartje als u door wilt gaan naar de boottocht.
Winkel en café "Fushimi Yumehyakushu." In feite is dit gebouw een hergebruikte bestemming van de voormalige hoofdwinkel van Gekkeikan, die meer dan 100 jaar geleden werd gebouwd. In de winkel vind je verschillende Kyoto-likeuren en souvenirs, niet beperkt tot Gekkeikan. Wij bieden een zittende proeverij aan van drie verschillende sakes, inclusief een aperitiefje. Geniet van uw tijd bij ons. Voor degenen die alleen deze zomer aan onze tour hebben deelgenomen, geven we hier sake-ijs weg.
Kizakura staat bekend om zijn sake-commercials met Kappa-personages, maar het is ook het eerste bedrijf in Kyoto dat lokaal bier produceert. Daarom kun je bij Fushimizugura, naast het sake-productieproces, ook een rondleiding krijgen door de bierfabriek. Na de rondleiding kun je sake en bier proeven op de mooie binnenplaats. We bieden u hier één glas Kyoto-bier aan, dus ontspan en kom tot rust van uw reis.
Fushimizu SakeKura koji is geopend in maart 2016. Dit is een sake-themapark waar je kunt genieten van lokale Fushimi-sake en gerechten uit heel Japan. Met de steun van 17 brouwerijen die behoren tot de Fushimi Sake Brewers Association, is deze faciliteit een faciliteit waar u kunt genieten van ongeveer 100 soorten lokale Fushimi-sake.

- De Japanse zomer kan behoorlijk heet zijn, vooral in augustus, wanneer de temperatuur vaak boven de 35 graden Celsius komt. Gezien de aard van onze wandeltochten, waarbij tijd in de buitenlucht wordt doorgebracht, raden wij ten zeerste aan maatregelen te nemen om een zonnesteek te voorkomen. Zorg ervoor dat u gehydrateerd blijft en overweeg het gebruik van parasols voor schaduw.

This tour was a great way to learn about the maki g of Sake and it's place in japanese culture. Bob was a great guide who had worked in a brewery. He could offer insights into what it was like to produce it and had interesting cultural observations as well.

We were 4 friends and our tour guide was so knowledgeable and helpful when we walked through the city and visited the tasting set of three types of Japanese sake (Gekkeikan Sake Brewery) company. After the tour we stopped at a Japanese Izakaya - pub type food and more sake tasting there!! He was great at helping us with the translation and ordering of food! We wouldn’t have been able to do this on our own as we did many things on our own trip but this was a necessary experience!!

My wife and I met up with Bob for our Sake walking tour. You do not want to drive after this one! The meet up place was very easy to get to from Kyoto Station. Once we got started on the walking tour it didn’t take long for each of us to get to know each other very well as we traversed between the different breweries and museums. My wife and I had a very delightful time. We discovered that Bob worked several seasons at a sake factory, learning the culture, trade and traditions of making Sake, which nicely accompanied his in depth knowledge of sake making down to the most minute detail of the process. We also learned quite a bit about how Kyoto became the center of the Sake industry. I must warn everyone, that understandably, the tour gets better after each stop! Hats off to Bob, we really appreciated the effort he put into our tour, if anyone is booking this tour in the future, you should ask for Bob.

We had a great Time! We got a deep insight in the sake production and tasted really good sake. This was an excellent tour that I highly recommend! Our tour guide Bob was very cool, fun and easy to talk to. He also used to work in a sake brewery and was an expert on both the process of producing sake and the different varieties we could try. Our tour guide, Makota ( I hope I spelled your name correctly), was excellent. He already had background knowledge of the brewery process which made the tour much more enjoyable and was able to answer our questions. After the tasting, he also recommended other brands of Kyoto Sake that we should consider. Since we liked all the ones he recommended, my husband and son ended up buying as much as we could take back to the US. We highly recommend this tour, with our guide. On another note, our guide also helped us get back to the train station and told us which trains to take in order to get back to our hotel, which was a godsend. It's that extra service that made the tour excellent.
