Jakarta : Verborgen Waterval Regenwoud Trektocht & Botanische Tuin Tour

Tio was a fantastic guide. Helped us cross the streams which were sometimes slippery. I had a heavy backpack which was sometimes difficult on the steeper parts of the trail. I made it to the waterfall, but realized that coming down the trail would be harder. Before I said anything, Tio offered to carry the backpack without hurting my male ego. The hidden falls were worth the effort. They had plenty of water in spite of the dry spell going on in Jakarta. The village restaurant we went to for lunch was amazing. I recommend the fish. They can accommodate vegetarians. The Botanical Garden were nice but we're not open for long by the time we got there. All in all this was a highlight of our time here?

The overall tour was wonderful. Just as the title suggests, "Jakarta Hidden Waterfalls and Rainforest Trek," they took us to hidden places that are mostly known only to locals. Even though it was during the school holidays, we didn't encounter many tourists—most of the people we saw were locals. Pros: The vehicle was clean, and they picked us up right on time. Our driver was very skilled at navigating the winding and narrow roads to reach the trailhead before we began the hike to the waterfalls. The hike is of intermediate difficulty, so be sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes or sneakers. Our guide, Bryan, was knowledgeable and friendly. Along the way, he pointed out and explained many interesting local plants, including lemongrass, galangal, pandan, and durian. We also crossed several rivers to reach the waterfalls, so it's a good idea to bring water shoes or sandals that can get wet. Cons: One minor inconvenience was the restroom facilities along the way. They only have traditional squat toilets, and in some places there isn't even a sink to wash your hands. If you're not used to this type of restroom or prefer more modern facilities, it's something to keep in mind before joining the tour.

The prop is very interesting re being in nature both wild and cultivated. People should know they need a certain level of fitness to walk up the river bed. It was well worth it. The guide Tio was very personable and knowledgeable guide and Aji a skilled and patient driver.

This was a day of walking, seeing Java’s fantastic vegetation, spending a day in nature with a knowledgeable and welcoming guide. I’m so pleased that Bryan was my guide. I came away feeling that I had spent a day with a friend. My favorite activities are walking in streams, learning about a country, eating good food, and being far from touristy attractions. This tour gave me all that and a chance to see neighborhoods far from Jakarta proper.

Bryan was an excellent, charming guide who spoke excellent English. There was very good communication from the company about our pickup. The botanical garden was a lovely, peaceful respite from busy Jakarta. Mr. T.,our driver, was unflappable despite some crazy traffic when we left the city. Lunch was delicious in a lovely restaurant. The highlight of the trip was the short hike to the beautiful waterfalls. Be sure to bring water shoes! It was so fun to see monkeys on our hike. We recommend this tour!

Garden is beautiful tropical forest. Waterfall walk is pretty walk. However, I regret walking to the waterfall, in April, 2 days after it rained, we had to cross the river 8 times, flowing rapidly up to my knees, over slippery sharp rocks.

Our guide Bryan was outstanding. The day was really fantastic. We enjoyed Bogor Botanical Garden. The best part of the tour was however the trekking in the national park. So beautiful! The guide and the park ranger were extremely helpful. Highly recommended

Brian was our tour guide and Bobo our driver. They were both very friendly, talkative, considerate and helpful. The tour takes you out of busy jakarta and into bogor. The weather is a bit cooler than in jakarta which was very nice. The botanical garden was beautiful and was accompanied by excellent historical and botanical explanations by Brian. We headed into a farming village where Bobo masterfully maneuvered through the tiny streets or “paths” as the locals call them. The trek was fantastic and very beautiful. We came well prepared with water shoes as you cross the small river about 3 times before having the option to take a swim at the waterfall. The trek is perfect for people who like light hiking and want to get up close and personal with the local plant life. We saw a lot of butterflies and Brian showed us lemon grass and other plants along the trail. To finish off the tour we had an amazing late lunch at a local restaurant.

Had a wonderful day with Rizky. He was a brilliant guide with lots of I teresting insights to offer about the local sights. As a solo traveller I felt very welcome and comfortable. Everything was extremely smooth with all the logistics and I would recommend for a fun day escape from Jakarta 🙂

It was a great day to spent just enough time in the botanical gardens. Not to long for my teenage sons and not to short for me. Our tour guides English was very good and was therefore able to inform us about all things in the gardens. Next we went for a very exiting walk to a waterfall. The wall itself was great. Our guide (Vincent) helped us very well through the slippery creeks. Once arrived at the waterfall we could spend some time there and were told that we could also swim. It’s not very deep so an actual swim wasn’t possible. After the scenic route through the woods we had lunch at a good place. Nice food! Complements also for our driver. Well done for bringing us home safely. Highly recommend this trip for teenagers.
