Bezoek de waterkrachtcentrale Itaipu, een van de grootste dammen ter wereld. De 7.919 meter lange en 196 meter hoge structuur gebouwd tussen twee landen is verantwoordelijk voor 95% van de energie in Paraguay en 24% van het energieverbruik in Brazilië. Sinds de eerste generator in 1984 in bedrijf is, heeft het opeenvolgende inkomsten en productierecords gebroken. Begin je twee-en-half uur durende rondleiding bij de receptie en bekijk een videopresentatie van de dam. Volg een panoramisch bezoek aan het grote prieel om te genieten van een unieke en buitengewone ervaring met het bekijken van de waterkracht. Naast het bevoorrechte uitzicht op de overlaat aan de top van de dam, staat de route het contact met de natuur en prachtige landschappen binnen het Itaipu Tourist Complex toe.

The van ride to the dam was late and the driver spoke very minimal English. The tour guide on the bus spoke very quickly with a heavy accent. So very difficult to understand. Would have been much cheaper to just Uber to the Dam
If you are in the area this is something not to miss. The sheer scale of it can’t be described. The tour is very well organised and gives you lots of information about the dam and the history and construction of it. We both really enjoyed the morning.

Tour, panoramic view of the outside of the plant.. gives a good overview of the scale of the construction.. Visit, well organized about two hours.

Great tour! The driver was awesome and very helpful. Definitely recommend having someone pick you up and drop off on to the dam and handle the tickets. Great price!!

The visit is a history lesson, but the value is a bit super-dimensional for the TUR that is done. Could be more in mind

We were in a group of motorcyclists and the coordinator got permission for us to take a bike ride through the plant. Cloro, in the places where visitation is allowed. It was very nice. We were able to see more closely the grandiose work of this so important plant. We made stops at the Mirantes Central and Vertedouro. In the first one was open, in the second everything was closed. But it was worth it. The Mirantes have a good structure. Shop, cafeteria, bathrooms, benches to sit down and admire that magnificent construction. It was a beautiful walk.

we know the outside of the Itaipu Plant, with a responsible engineer along on the Onibus. happy ride. It was the group of 15 people, we bought a ticket. we watched a video talking about the construction, had a drink. we took a photo of the group and then we bought the photo.

Driver was very friendly but did not speak any English - I had booked an English tour. These was some confusion as which tour was booked as there were 2 options after driver scanned our tickets. All was good when that was sorted out.
We liked very unique experience. I found very careful and the monitors very diligent. I loved their explanation of the story. It's worth a visit.
