Bezoek de Blauwe Moskee, ook bekend als de Sultan Ahmed-moskee, en bekijk de blauwe tegels van het interieur die de moskee zijn huidige naam gaven. De verbluffende architectuur van de moskee kan het best worden gewaardeerd vanaf het nabijgelegen Hippodroom, dat tijdens de oorlog een oud stadion was. het Byzantijnse tijdperk. Breng wat tijd door met winkelen voor gedenkwaardige souvenirs op de Grand Bazaar, een van 's werelds grootste overdekte markten en bekend om sieraden en aardewerk, voordat u uitrust en oplaadt met een lunch in een authentiek Turks restaurant. De rest van de dag besteed je aan het verkennen van beroemde plekken die bewaard zijn gebleven uit de Byzantijnse en Ottomaanse relikwieën, waar je fascinerende feiten en verhalen leert van je Engelssprekende gids! Stop bij het Topkapi-paleis, het grootste en oudste paleis ter wereld, en de Tombes van de Sultans in de Hagia Sofia, verschillende kleine gebouwen die op miniatuurmoskeeën lijken en rijkelijk versierde graven bevatten van vijf verschillende sultans en hun uitgebreide families.

Fantastic guide and wonderful tour of the Topkapi palace. I learned a lot about the history of the Sultans and the Ottoman Empire from the siege of Constantinople to the 1920’s.

Hussein was a very good tour guide. Blue mosque amazing, couldn’t see majesty of Haghia Sophia with big scaffolding in and out.
