Great experience! Cem was very accommodating, helping with our reservation. Ahmet & Omar led us on an entertaining ride giving us history of landmarks along the way. The pace was perfect for our group. They kept us in check and I felt safe. Would highly recommend this tour and will ride again with them next time I am back!
Omer was awesome. They are very helpful, professional, and kind. Had a great time and I would recommend.
Excellent tour with great guides. Some busy traffic areas and hills. Guides did everything to make sure each individual had a great time. We had a problem and the guides went out of their way to help us without impacting the rest of the group/tour. Thank you very much@
So much fun! We always try and do a bike tour when visiting a new city as it’s a great way to get connected. This tour was excellent and we highly recommend it as Istanbul is large, diverse, and across two continents. It’s not for the faint of heart though given you’re riding through the “controlled chaos” that makes this city amazing!
This bike and boat tour was one of the highlights of our 4-day visit to Istanbul! Our guide, Can (pronounced “John”), was friendly, knowledgeable, and brought the city’s history to life with fascinating stories about Balat, the Galata Tower, the Walls of Constantinople, Maiden’s Tower, and Florence Nightingale’s connection to the Crimean War. The four of us were initially disappointed to discover the bikes ere not e-bikes as assumed. However, Can adjusted the pace and route so well that it quickly became a non-issue. Istanbul isn’t a particularly bike-friendly city, and we even had a couple of mechanical issues at the start. My bike seat wouldn’t stay up, so Can eventually swapped bikes with me—a great example of his excellent customer service. The ferry ride between Europe and Asia was a unique bonus, and biking on two continents in one tour made for an unforgettable experience. If you’re comfortable riding in an urban setting, I highly recommend this tour.
Guides were informative and this was a beautiful way to sightsee the city. However, the pace and difficulty of the tour is more medium/hard for certain populations and is not a leisurely stroll in some parts. Be warned!
This was a cool way to have a local experience- see lesser known neighborhoods and take the local ferry. The guide Omer has lots of interesting takes on Turkish living. The ride was more strenuous than other tourist bike tours I've done in other cities-wear comfortable clothes and bring sunscreen. Ladies, bring TP with you and be prepared for the squat toilet if you need to go.
Our bike tour with Ömer was the highlight of our trip! We loved seeing different Istanbul neighborhoods on both the Europe & Asia sides while learning the city’s sociopolitical context from our guide. He’s knowledgeable, funny & smart and included all members of our group. He tailored parts of the tour to our interests & navigated us smoothly through the streets. We felt excited & safe, so we highly recommend y’all get out there on a bike with Ömer!
We enjoyed seeing both sides of Istanbul and riding the ferry. Ahmet told us about the history at multiple stops. Be prepared for city biking without bike lanes. We did have to maneuver around vehicles and people in busy areas. Tour was about 5 hours long and we enjoyed pastries at a bakery near the bike shop. The shop does not have a sign outside, the Google maps location gets you there and communication is great using WhatsApp.
Biking is the best way to see many neighborhoods and major sights effortlessly and in detail. Better than walking and being in a motorized vehicle. Follow the guide and you’ll glide through crowds and traffic, underpasses and onto ferries. Practice changing gears for the rare inclines. I recommend as the first excursion in Istanbul.
