Issyk Lake - schitterende parel van de omgeving van Almaty + Golden Man-museum
Beschrijving
Issyk - is een hemelsblauw meer op 1,5 uur rijden van Almaty. Omgeven door prachtige berglandschappen is deze plek een perfecte plek om op een vrije dag te bezoeken. Door de gezellige sfeer voel je je hier ontspannen en geniet je van de natuur. U kunt een boottocht maken op het meer, een mooie wandeling maken of een picknick opzetten in een van de prieeltjes. Je krijgt ook de kans om een belangrijke plaats te bezoeken voor de geschiedenis van Kazachstan en de archeologische wereld in het algemeen - het Golden Man Issyk-museum. Dit archeologische complex staat bekend om de vondst van een Gouden Man - Scythische krijger gekleed in een massief gouden harnas (6-5 eeuw voor Christus) Er is onderweg een leuk forelboerderijcafé waar we kunnen stoppen voor een lunch in de buitenlucht.

We bezoeken het Issyk State Museum dat het verhaal van een gouden man vertegenwoordigt. De begrafenis van een scythische krijger vol gouden ornamenten en wapenrusting die in 1969 in dit gebied werd gevonden

Just about 2 hours drive from AlMaty this is a must place to visit . Very peaceful , in the lap of nature , turquoise water.. enjoyed picnic with family & friends. Some of us did horse riding, and some only walked on the shoreline. Nothing artificial..all nature.. perfect place to chill !!
It was a great trip and highly recommended . Our tour guide Mr. Nursultan was very helpful and informative and has shared us a lot of information and insight about all the places we went and also regarding the local culture and practices. He helped us to make the trip more intresting. Overall it was a very good journey.
Our tour guide, Ruslun and his father were excellent. They gave great background information on the sights and were very accommodating. It was a bit rainy the day of our tour and they came prepared with rain jackets and umbrellas as well. They were very professional.

Great day tour from Amalty for an introduction to Kazakhstan's natural beauty, whether you are only in Amalty for short time, or at start of a longer exploration of the country, as was my case. Great, young but knowledgeable and fluent English speaking guide!
Just stunning. There are no words to describe how beautiful this lake is. Apparently late autumn is one of the best times to see it - the autumn colours of yellow and red set against the emerald blue of the lake water. Please note for those who are have difficulty with mobility it can be difficult to access the lake. We were able to take a taxi to the lake but there are about 50-60 steps to the lakeside. Even with 2 of us helping my elderly companion did struggle (although we did manage it).
