Vanuit Invergordon reizen we naar onze eerste stop van de dag, Cawdor Castle. Cawdor Castle ligt te midden van prachtige tuinen in Nairnshire en is het voorouderlijke huis van de Campbells. Het dateert uit de 15e eeuw. Breng hier tijd door met het verkennen van het kasteel en de schilderachtige omgeving.
Vanaf de Clava Cairns gaat onze Invergordon excursie verder naar Dores Beach aan de oevers van Loch Ness voor een snelle foto- en verfrissingspauze, zodat u de mogelijkheid heeft voor een kort stukje Nessie Hunting!
Ons avontuur gaat dan richting Inverness; hoofdstad van de Highlands. We brengen hier meer dan een uur door, genoeg tijd om te lunchen en te wandelen langs de oevers van de rivier de Ness en misschien wat goed uitzicht te krijgen op Inverness Castle.
Glen Ord is de enige overgebleven single malt whisky-distilleerderij op Black Isle en is de thuisbasis van Singleton Whisky. Geniet van een rondleiding door de distilleerderij, ter afsluiting van uw Invergordon Shore Excursion met een proeverij van de Singleton of Glen Ord 12-jarige whisky.

Good value, great bus and driver. It was the tour guides first day. She was nice and will get better.
Our driver was great and the saving grace for the tour. I have never heard “I’ve never been here” quite so many times from a tour guide. She hadn’t been to any of the attractions we stopped at.
The places we visited were wonderful. Our problem was with Timberbush who the tour was outsourced to. First there was no directions on where to go when we came off of the boat or who to look for. Other tours we have done in other cities have said come out, turn right and look for guides with red hats. We had no directions and had to ask 3 different people before we found the correct location. The guide named Doreen that we were given had no knowledge of any of the locations we visited and provided little history on the area. She was very disorganized, stammered over words and kept dropping her water bottle. When we arrived at our first location she lead the group in the wrong direction of the entrance and then did not go to the entry desk to let them know our group was there and we were late. Those of us with Castle entry tickets had to go up and advocate for our group to get in. When we arrived at the distillery it was similar confusion. She is a nice person but definitely needed more training before being put out with a group. Our bus driver Andy was very knowledgeable and was often correcting her and actually took over giving us details of the area at times. I would recommend the places we visited but not the tour company it was outsourced to.

Marita from Timberbush Tours led us on a wonderful tour in and around Inverness, with stops at Cawdor Castle, Loch Ness, and Glen Ord distillery. A well seasoned driver, she was unflappable and punctual. She filled our drive time with stories from local lore as well as pointing out the sights as we passed.
Great guide (Fiona). I am glad we ended up at Tomatin instead of Glen Ord. I really enjoyed the tour and tasting. Cawdor Castle and the grounds were brilliant. We has a taste of Loch Ness, and a surprise bonus to the Clavacairns, which was brilliant. She packed so much in. There were places I would have lingered longer, but there are only so many hours in port. Thank you, Fiona! P.S. I appreciated that she was wearing the more casual, daily kilt (as opposed to the formal kilts we always see).
The tour was great! Had to make some schedule adjustments but we were able to make the best of it. Castle was beautiful. Drive was nice and comfortable and the guide was great and very informative and friendly. Group of 7 - ages ranging from 11 - 58 and we all enjoyed.
Overall, a very good tour. Well-run timing wise and with mostly sufficient time at each site. It would have been nice to have a little longer at the distillery after the tour to taste and shop. Our tour guide Jack was amazing and was the highlight of the tour. The main issue I noticed is that there seemed to be a lot of confusion with purchasing the entrance tickets to the attraction separately. We purchased all of ours as requested by the tour company, but a lot of other people on our tour seem to have missed that instruction and were confused by it.

Fiona was amazing!!!! The Whisky wasn’t our cup of tea but she found us directions to a nice walk while others toured the factory. She made sure we were well taken care of and the tour stops didn’t feel rushed. Even took us by the Cairns which were fascinating

A nice balance of history, city and country. Lovely bus ride with great views, the all electric bus was comfortable and quiet. Fiona and Jeff were excellent as guide and driver. Really appreciated how the excursion was laid out and everything on time. Cawdir Castle was crowded, but moved fast, gardens were beautiful, Diane beach to look for Nessie was just right and the distillery was a nice ending. A great day!
