In mijn ervaringen zullen mensen kunnen leven en leren kennen vanuit het perspectief van een lokale persoon met inheemse afkomst. veel tradities die erg belangrijk zijn voor de cultuur, zoals geneeskrachtige planten, het kennen van het ceremoniehuis, ambachten, het maken van cacaochocolade en geschiedenis. en ook heel belangrijk om te delen met de lokale bevolking en een mooie herinnering mee naar huis te nemen van alles wat ter plekke is meegemaakt. en dan na deze prachtige culturele ervaring. We bezochten een waterval in de omgeving waar je kunt zwemmen en genieten van de natuur. Het is een ervaring die je in staat stelt om verbinding te maken met de inheemse Bribri-cultuur van het gebied en de aard van de omgeving te waarderen, die maar heel weinig mensen hebben kunnen bezoeken en leren over de schoonheid van deze cultuur. En iets wat ook heel belangrijk is, is dat zelfs de kleintjes die deze ervaring beleven, kennis zullen maken met een van de bekendste culturen in Costa Rica.

Mijn ervaring zal je kennis van het leven in de inheemse Bribri-cultuur verdiepen. Een van de meest interessante culturen vanwege zijn manier van leven in harmonie met de natuur. Ik neem je mee naar mijn steden, waar ik ben opgegroeid en mijn inheemse wortels leerde kennen, die van generatie op generatie zijn overgedragen, waar we duurzaam werken aan het helpen van gezinnen in de gebieden. Dankzij Sibö (het superinheemse wezen God) kreeg ik de kans om op te groeien in de inheemse gebieden, de wijsheid van onze voorouders te leren kennen en de liefde en zorg voor de natuur te leren kennen, waar ik een verlangen ontwaakte om mijn cultuur te redden en deze met de mensen te delen die ons bezoeken. Op het grondgebied zullen we genieten van imposante bergen, prachtige rivieren, de Creoolse keuken, het eenvoudige leven, voorouderlijke activiteiten, zoals de bereiding van cacao, een heilige drank, de Bribri-taal, de natuurlijke geneeskunde en het wereldbeeld. Het is echt een cultuur die rijk is aan kennis om van te leren, met een unieke expertise. Eindigend in een prachtige waterval

I loved being able to visit and get to know the Bribri community better; their worldview, their work with cacao, and their crafts. A thousand thanks to our guide Eliseo for sharing his knowledge with such passion, affection, and respect for the culture and nature; it makes a difference. The waterfall is a beauty. A true indigenous cultural immersion experience! Also, we were a very small group, which adds extra value. Eliseo is an excellent guide; he answers everything you ask him, without rushing, without pressure, giving his own traditions the place they deserve. Highly recommended ❤️

I had a pleasant experience with this tour to the Bri Bri Native Community, cocoa production, and visit to the Waterfalls. The people are very friendly and our guide Eliseo exceeded my expectations. A MUST do! Elisio was a fantastic guide- highly professional, educational, and friendly. We learned about the Bri Bri culture through historical context but also from Elisio’s personal background and experience as a person of Bri Bri ethnic background. We examined artifacts, and got a succinct history lesson. Firsthand, we experienced roasting cacao beans, grinding in the traditional manner, and finally getting to sample the cacao paste in a carmelized banana which was delicious and nutritious. We learned about the Bri Bri culture and how they have adapted to modern times. Every sense was ignited as there was a lot to see, hear, smell, taste, and feel! We then visited the Bri Bri waterfall and it was a refreshing swim and great because barely anyone else was there in mid-June. Great way to spend a morning and early afternoon and learn about the local culture!

Eliseo was a wonderful, friendly guide. He is from the BriBri tribe and culture which gave the tour much more depth and meaning than others we observed. Eliseo shared his culture with a lot of pride and joy. We greatly appreciated the extra time he spent sharing his culture with us, everything from their spiritual beliefs to how they utilize the local plants for food and building. Of course the tour included a demonstration on how to make chocolate, including eating it over roasted bananas and as a drink. We ended the tour at BriBri falls where Eliseo took the time to take photographs of everyone in our group. He even spotted a sloth which was a highlight for several other people in our group who hadn’t seen one yet. I highly recommend this tour if you are visiting the Puerto Viejo/Cahuita area.
