Je verkent verborgen steegjes, arcades en eetgelegenheden die alleen locals kennen, en stopt bij vijf zorgvuldig uitgekozen plekken die we vaak bezoeken. Geniet van meer dan 15 gerechten, 3 lokale drankjes en Osaka favorieten zoals takoyaki, karaage, kushikatsu, udon en oden onder vele anderen. Als de tijd het toelaat, maken we een korte wandeling door Shinsekai – een gebied dat vaak over het hoofd wordt gezien en vol verborgen juweeltjes, leuke weetjes en bezienswaardigheden zit om te ontdekken.
Loop langs Tsutenkaku, de beroemde bezienswaardigheidstoren die het middelpunt van het gebied vormt, en zie waar Kushikatsu allemaal begon. Loop door de straten die meer dan een eeuw geleden zijn ontworpen om een westers gevoel naar Osaka te brengen.

We have one regret: we didn’t do this tour as soon as we got to Osaka. Our tour guide, Davin, was excellent. He was so knowledgeable, engaging, and genuine. He answered all of our questions about Japan, its history, the food, so thoughtfully. He blended history with personal anecdotes that made our understanding come to life. We also had a great time meeting other travelers and chatting about our time in Japan and our homes over delicious, beautifully curated meals. There’s no better way to meet people and learn about the world around you than over a wonderful meal, and this checked all of those boxes.

Scott was a memorable part of a very interesting food tour. Good portions of tasty food were provided and the eating establishments were run by a colorful cast of characters. I would highly suggest taking this food tour to experience the unique Osakan cuisine.

Great fun few hours. Spots we would not have round and a brilliant way to acclimatise to the city and its great cuisine! Guide was fun. Communication excellent. All round excellent evening!
