We did the DMZ tour half a day tour and it was very interesting and informative! Our tour guide and driver Hoa was very knowledgeable and kind. His English was excellent, and every question we had he could answer. Not only about the War and the DMZ, but about Vietnam in general. He was very enthusiastic about sharing his culture and knowledge. The tour itself was great, and the places we stopped were very eye opening. It really gives a better insight into the history of Vietnam and the world. Even after the tour Hoa gave tips about how to continue our travels and good local places to visit. After the tour he dropped us off at a great restaurant in the center of Hue that he recommended. As we booked last minute the day before we wanted to do the tour, our experience couldn’t have been better. Go for it, and ask for Hoa, he is an absolute legend

We needed a transfer from Hue to Phong Nha and wanted to see the Vinh-Moc tunnels on the way. Hoa gave us exactly that, a very comfortable ride with fun conversations, answering all our questions and offering some stories to things we passed on the way. At the tunnels he helped us with our entrance tickets and then we joined another group with a guide through the tunnels (but exploring on your own would have been possible as well). There would have been the option to make some more stops on the way (including e.g. a lunch break), but because of the rainy weather we decided to go on directly to Phong Nha, where Hoa dropped us off safe and sound at our homestay. We would definitely recommend this one-way tour!
