17:30 uur. Onze gids ontmoet je voor het SONG HUONG FLOATING RESTAURANT, we starten de Hue Walking Food Tour om de kleurrijke Dong Ba-markt te bezoeken, de beste groothandelsmarkt in de stad Hue. Hier leert u hoe de lokale bevolking verse ingrediënten kiest om hun dagelijkse traditionele zelfgemaakte gerechten te bereiden met onze foodiegids.
Ga vervolgens verder door Hue Citadel Area en maak een aantal stops in lokale restaurants om enkele beste lokale gerechten te proberen en onze lokale Gids kan de geschiedenis en cultuur van Vietnamese Royalty met het leven van de koningen met u delen; hun koninginnen, minderjarige vrouwen, concubines en eunuchen. Houd er rekening mee dat we alleen rijden in het woongedeelte van de lokale bevolking in de Citadel, maar niet in Imperial City - Voormalig woongedeelte van de koninklijke familie.
We blijven over de prachtige Trang Tien-brug lopen en stoppen in een aantal authentieke lokale restaurants om enkele van de beste authentieke lokale gerechten te proberen met Banh Khoai (Hue Fried Pancake), Nem Lụi (gegrild gehakt varkensvlees aan spies), Bun Bo Hue ( Hue-noedelsoep met rundvlees), Banh Beo (gestoomde cake in de vorm van een varen), Banh Nam (gestoomde rijstpannenkoek in banaan / taroblad), voornamelijk gemaakt van rijst- / tapiocameel met garnalen, varkensvlees en lente-uitjes en geserveerd met verse groenten en heerlijke dipsaus.
Daarna lopen we verder naar Han Mac Tu Street, gelegen langs de Nhu Y-rivier (Tak van de Parfumrivier). Hier kunt u genieten van de beste typische en populaire lokale gerechten, die ze alleen in de stad Hue serveren, zoals Cơm Hến Huế (Hue-mosselrijst), Hến Xào (gebakken mossel met glasnoedels en kruiden). Hier kunt u tijd hebben om te ontspannen en de sfeer van een prachtige en vredige rivier te voelen. 20:30 uur. Taking a cyclo is an exciting and fun choice. It took us to the centre of action of Hue or Vietnamese traffic. It was nerve racking initially but the riders for our groip were experienced and made us feel safe. You will be seated in front of the rider with no seat belt but this is easily the best local experience we had on the trip. Food places were great but we were not big eaters so we got full very quickly. Our guide started with a portion for each of us but we had to tell her to order less so we would not waste too much food. Everything was delicious and the eateries we went to were frequented by locals. Authentic experience with great informative commentary by our guide.
The food tour with Nhien was amazing. I was looking for an easy way to introduce my partner to Hue food and Nhien did a wonderful job picking spots that were authentic and delicious. My favorite was the stop at the market to look where restaurants buy wholesale produce. Nhien helped me but mangosteens that I have been craving! She also helped me get the mangosteens after they were accidentally left at one of the food stops 😅. The cyclo drivers were great and thoughtful. We had a great time and hope to go on another tour with Nhien in the few days we're here. Would absolutely recommend if you're in Hue and interested in exploring the food!

We we're with Nhien, who is an amazing tour guide and person. We had a lot of fun with her, she told us a lot about Hué, the culture, the people and the food. The food places were amazing and we could try some very nice foods with local people and not in touristy places. The scooter tour was amazing too and we could see a lot of Hué in a lovely way. I recommand !
Nhien and her other driver were great. My wife was initially nervous about riding on a motorcycle in Vietnam traffic but Nhien made her feel at ease by being a very safe and thoughtful rider. Her local food choices were great, the food was exceptional traditional dishes from local family restaurants.. highly recommend

You get a lot of different kinds of food that is really local. The guide is very nice, friendly and tells many interesting things. Definitely recommended, go on an empty stomach, because you eat quite a lot.
On a rainy night in Hue, we enjoyed a food tour by scooter with Nhien and her co-driver. This was a great way to spend our first evening in Hue, despite the rainy weather. She introduced us to multiple Hue speciality dishes and most importantly showed us how to eat them! En route, Nhien gave me lots of interesting facts about the city. We both felt entirely safe on the backs of the scooters the whole time. We would recommend this tour.
Our night food tour with Wide Eyed Tours was a fabulous way of learning more about the origin of some of the region’s authentic dishes. Our guide, Thanh, was a wealth of knowledgeable and his Dad jokes only added to the joy of the experience. Travelling by motorbike our drivers took us through vibrant back streets and markets introducing us to local produce. Tanh shared stories about how local food customs began and are still honoured today, how the food is sourced, grown and prepared. While we were nervous about the motorbike at first, we immediately relaxed. The fresh air and sense of being emerged right in the moment was such a thrill. Do not have lunch beforehand!! You absolutely won’t need it!! There was a huge variety of food from restaurants that were off the beaten track. With fresh ingredients prepared simply it was completely delicious. We had to get dropped off 20 minutes from our hotel so we could walk off the indulgence. Highly recommend.
Really excellent trip. Our guide Trang was wonderful , very knowledge and accommodating to our whole family . It was a lot of fun on the Cyclos !
