Krijg een diepgaand inzicht in Hue tijdens deze begeleide groepsreis. De stad staat op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO, ligt aan de Parfumrivier en beschikt over citadellen, paleizen en koninklijke graven. De route omvat een drakenboottocht naar de Thien Mu-pagode, de keizerlijke citadel, de Dong Ba-markt, het graf van Khai Dinh King en meer.

Onze gids haalt ons op bij het hotel en start de Hue City Tour van een hele dag.
Drakenboottocht naar de Thien Mu-pagode, de oudste pagode in de stad Hue. Deze zeven verdiepingen tellende pagode werd gebouwd in 1601 en was getuige van verschillende gebeurtenissen die hem overkwamen, maar hij staat nog steeds overeind. Hier krijg je de kans om meer te weten te komen over de geschiedenis van het Vietnamese boeddhisme en hoe belangrijk het is voor onze lokale gemeenschap.
Imperial Citadel: de thuisbasis van de laatste koninklijke dynastie van Vietnam, de Nguyen-dynastie. Een complex van ongeveer 100 monumenten op 520 hectare van de Nguyen-dynastie. Het was de voormalige werk- en privéwoning van 13 keizers, concubines en eunuchen.
Dong Ba Market is de grootste markt in Hue City en is een populaire bestemming voor zowel de lokale bevolking als toeristen. De markt bevindt zich aan de noordelijke oever van de Perfume River en wordt beschouwd als het culturele en commerciële centrum van de stad.
Lunch in een oud Hue-restaurant met speciale Hue-gerechten zoals Bun Bo Hue, Nem Lui, enz.
Een bezoek aan de Khai Dinh-tombe: de 12e keizer van de Nguyen-dynastie regeerde van 1916 tot zijn dood in 1925. Zijn tombe, die in 1931 werd voltooid, is een samensmelting van westerse en oosterse bouwstijlen en staat bekend om zijn ingewikkelde details en weelderige versieringen.
Minh Mang Tomb: Het graf van keizer Minh Mang, de 2e koning van de Nguyen-dynastie, staat bekend om zijn landschap en oosterse architectuur.
Stop op de terugweg om het wierookdorp Thuy Xuan te bezoeken. Het staat al meer dan 400 jaar bekend om zijn hoogwaardige wierook en het is een geweldige kans om te zien hoe de lokale bevolking deze geurige producten maakt.

I did not realize how much was in the old city. I never would have seen it all without this tour. It then covered an important pagoda and two tombs. Excellent trip and guide.

Fascinating trip into the era of the Nguyen dynasty with some more recent history (very PC) thrown in.. Pros: value, guide, good lunch Cons: at least a million steps Nice van with adjustable ac. It could use beverage holders. Our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Great lunch which was included, but any beverages are extra. The coconut coffee was so refreshing. I walked over 10000 steps and it seemed a good percentage was verticle.. Most monuments are a series of buildings, each on its very own hillock, and most of the stairs had no railings. Full disclosure, I am 79, and when our last stop was at the foot of yet another steep set of stairs, with more out of sight, I said not only no but hell no.and was directed ro a very pleasant coffee shop for about 30 minutes. Aches and pains today, but glad I went. Pick up and drop off was conveniently at my hotel.

This tour was excellent. Our guide Tom was very informative and interesting. He spoke excellent English and communicated very well. We had a Dragon boat ride to start, visited the Thien Mu pagoda, the Citadel and Imperial City, Dong Ba market, then had a buffet lunch with a bonus foot detox as well. After lunch we visited the two Kings Tombs and an incense factory. Throughout the day, Tom kept us supplied with water, which was really needed. I really enjoyed my day and couldn't fault this tour.

Huge thanks to Austin for an amazing full-day tour of Huế. He guided us through the Imperial City (The Citadel), mausoleum of Emperor Minh Man, tomb of Khai Dinh, the Thien Mu pagoda, Dong Ba Market, and the Thuy Xuan incense village and brought the history of Hue to life in a fun, easygoing way. Austin was kind, funny, and super personable, and he was always happy to answer my family’s side questions along the way. The day flew by thanks to him! I highly recommend if you want to really understand Huế and enjoy the experience.
