Oververhit gesteente in de aardmantel duwde de korst met zoveel kracht omhoog dat hij barstte. Een brok van 240.000 vierkante mijl werd omhoog geduwd. Dat is het Colorado Plateau waar we vandaag op staan. Dit alles gebeurde in een oogwenk — nou ja, geologisch gezien. Voor ons verliep de transformatie kwellend langzaam, en duurde het honderdduizenden jaren. Opmerking : De tour is meer dan 1,5 mijl lang, met meer dan 10 audio verhalen, en duurt ongeveer 1 - 2 uur te voltooien. Nieuw, Levenslang toegang, geen vervaldatum. Page is een van de jongste steden in Amerika, daterend uit slechts 1957. Maar waarom zou je hier überhaupt een stad bouwen? Nou, het hele ding bestaat vanwege Glen Canyon Dam.
Deze makkelijke route is ook een fantastische plek voor fietsers! Hoe je het ook wilt ervaren, dit zijn zonder twijfel enkele van de beste bezienswaardigheden in Page.
Dit is het beginpunt van Hanging Gardens Trail, een welkome oase van de ruige woestijn. Dit gemakkelijke pad van 1,2 mijl heen en terug dat eindigt met een verrassende uitbarsting van groen.

Het heet Waterhole Canyon. Erosie door water en wind heeft de wanden van de kloof uitgehouwen in een wild, gebogen patroon dat je gewoon persoonlijk moet zien.
Je denkt misschien niet aan "heldere kleuren" als je aan een kloof denkt, maar dat is precies wat je krijgt in Antelope Canyon. Deze wilde, kronkelende slotcanyon is niet voor niets Instagram-beroemd. De door de wind uitgehouwen zandstenen muren zien eruit als iets uit een droom, en het zonlicht dat van bovenaf naar beneden filtert, werpt het geheel in een fabelachtige rode gloed.

You can’t pass off a guided tour as an entrance to the site, among other things only in English (not even Spanish I don’t say Italian) I know so much about scam! The only thing you pay for at the horsebendshoe is parking. The site is worth a visit very nice, but the tour with audio guide is a scam

The information was ok but not worth the price . It was a definite must visit but too much for the tour app. You could easily just find the information online if that was something you wanted to know.

Viator Tickets are not necessary to go to Horse shoe bend. You only need to pay for a $10 parking permit. This was just an audio tour but was presented as a self guided tour that you need to buy.. You do not have to buy anything at all from this company to go to horse shoe bend. Don't be fooled by this. The audio tour amounted to a few sentences you could google.
Kevin, I provide only a self-guided audio tour, not a parking permit, and my listing clearly states that. Right after purchase, you should have received an email with instructions. The app and tour must be downloaded beforehand, as the app works offline once downloaded. The product is valid for a year, so there's no need to worry if your travel plans change. You might have been looking for something else, so if you booked by mistake, please email me to request a refund.
If you are visiting Page to see the Antelope Canyon, this is a worthy and convenient stop. The audio guide provides basic information (would have liked more), the parking lot is a long walk to the Bend, a consideration for the elderly or those with limited mobility. Fortunately, there are two sheltered rest stops on the path.

This was a perfectly good waste of $10. Horseshoe Bend is a very small site and the amount of information on the audio tour was equivalent to about 2 paragraphs of a google search. I would NOT recommend spending money on this.

Although the app work perfectly, there isn’t a lot of information about the history or geology of the Horseshoe Bend. Just a brief and non-relevant info on each point. To be fair just 2 points had somehow interesting information about the Bend. I would not recommend spending the money on this audio tour.
