Griekenland is de plaats waar filosofie is geboren en bloeide. Onder begeleiding van een lid van ons team reis je door de tijd in alle filosofische bewegingen van het oude Griekenland en ontdek je diepe verbindingen met onze mythen en goden van Olympus. Democratie, natuurkunde, astronomie, ethiek en vele andere toegepaste wetenschappen komen voort uit filosofie en natuurlijk worden filosofen beschouwd als 's werelds eerste intellectuelen. Tijdens een privéwandeling van 4 uur leer je elk interessant feit over filosofen van Thales van Miletus tot Socrates en Plato, en van Aristoteles tot de cynische filosoof Diogenes van Sinope, wiens beroemde antwoord op Alexander de Grote "Blijf uit mijn zonlicht", wanneer hem werd gevraagd of hij iets voor hem kon doen, is dat een teken van zijn karakter. Je maakt kennis met de belangrijkste mythen van de oude Griekse wereld zoals het verhaal achter de geboorte van godin Athene en alles rondom de ondeugende god Hermes.

Het museum herbergt een van de grootste collecties munten, oud en modern, ter wereld.
Voor het Helleense parlement zul je getuige zijn van een van de oudste tradities in Griekenland, de wisseling van de presidentiële garde.
Loop door de tuin en leer over democratie, natuurkunde, astronomie, ethiek en vele andere toegepaste wetenschappen die voortkomen uit de Griekse filosofie.

Het gebied is vernoemd naar de kerk van de Pantanassa die zich op het plein bevindt.
Ancient Agora is de plaats waar de stoïcijnse filosofie werd geboren in de Poikile Stoa.
Terwijl we de beroemde Tower of Winds bewonderen, leren we alles over Aiolos, de bewaker van de wind.
In Plaka en Anafiotika, aan de voet van de Akropolis, leer je over de Cinic-filosofen!
De tour wordt afgesloten op de Areopagus-heuvel met een adembenemend uitzicht op de Akropolis en mythen over de Olympische goden!

We had a great time, my son , who is 14 years old, said “this tour was his favorite by far”Bianca is very knowledgeable. She was able to introduce topics of mythology, philosophy, politics , religion in a very relaxing way , she always finds the perfect place to sit and talk during our walks through the busy and crowded touristic city.

I did this amazing walking tour with Bianca this morning and I could not recommend it highly enough. Not only did I learn about some of the great Greek philosophers and some Greek gods, but I also learnt about Athens. I have learnt to slow down, wander and get lost in this beautiful city. It was a wonderful way to start my time in Athens. I am going to employ this way of travelling during the rest of my Greek adventure. Thank you Bianca!
This tour was one of the best tours we have taken. Not only because it gave historical context to our time in Athens but because of our guide, Bianca. She was engaging, passionate, clearly expert in her subject yet made the the subject matter approachable and memorable. It was a walking tour and we covered a lot of ground, yet Bianca did an excellent job of pacing the tour, finding benches for us where possible so it didn't feel too much. The tour was equally loved by me, my husband and our 21 year old and it's clear that she is skilled at making the subject accessible for all ages. Highly recommend!
Bianca was exceptional in her knowledge but more importantly in her ability to enthuse and convey this so important information in such a pleasant and relaxed manner .. we didn’t know how the 4 hours flew by.
John was knowledgeable, patient, and personable. He was an enthusiastic guide - interested in architecture, connections of classical Greek philosophy to today (and the iterative eras between). From Socrates to Descartes, from the Stoics to Irvine, from Aristotle to Nussbaum - there is so much still to learn from the classical Greek philosophy. Along the way, you get to see Athens from a local's perspective.
Our lovely guide, Bianca, provided an amazing tour for our family. She was very knowledgeable and also warm and down to earth. She paced the tour well—we walked a lot, but had plenty of pauses, and we stopped for a drink at a rooftop restaurant. Bianca was organized in her approach, and pitched the material to our family’s interests. She was also flexible and adapted when needed. We had a great time with her and highly recommend this tour!

I was looking forward to hearing about the famous Greece philosophers while getting a brief tour of the notable city sites. Bianca exceeded my expectations in both regard. She is well educated in Greek philosophy and fully immersed in it. I went beyond her explanation to where we actually engaged in a discussion about 4 of the most famous philosophers.
