Start ons eetavontuur met een banh mi uit een 40+ jaar oude joint, een eerbetoon aan het icoon dat werd geboren uit de Franco-geïnspireerde bakkerijen van het oude Saigon. In de achterstraatjes ontdekken we een keuken met Michelin-classificatie die draderige rijstnoedels serveert met thit nuong gegrild varkensvlees en sappig rundvlees gewikkeld in wilde betelbladeren. We smullen van 15 + proeverijen in totaal, van rode banh cua krab soep tot wit geraspt varkensvlees en kokosroom. We breiden het gehemelte uit met houtskool-gegrilde babylon slakken en scheerkokkels met morning glory, naar plakrijst bananen en pompoen custard. We willen niet alle verrassingen bederven, hoewel we je niet hongerig laten vertrekken.
Meer ingrediënten voor deze culinaire expeditie zijn een dosis geschiedenis in een geheime wapenbunker. Very last minute booking, great service. Our guide Rick has a lot of experience and takes us to wonderful places that you cannot find yourself. The variety of dishes is great, ideal for discovering what you like. Rick not only talks about the food but takes you through history about Vietnam, its customs and shares other must sees. Definitely recommended!
I really enjoyed today’s food tour . It’s nice to try all the different flavours and dishes from the south of Vietnam. Our tour guide Rick was very kind and explained each dish and some culture along the way. We ate at many places we would normally just walk by, this way we got to know where the local people eat. I had a wonderful time.
We had an amazing time during our food tour in Ho chi minh city. We tried so many different types of local foods from the south of Vietnam and the city. It was all very balanced, and a great value for your money. It’s the perfect way to discover the city, we even went to a bunker so we learned a bit about the history of the city and the war. Our tour guide Rick was very friendly and knowledgeable and helped us around the city!

This tour was the highlight of my HCMC experience! I got to try so many foods and drinks and desserts that I don't think I would've been able to without the help of my amazing guide, Nhi! She explained each dish, taught me about the foods and how it related to Vietnamese history. We also stopped by some historical sites on the tour which was a perfect eating break where I learned so much. I had so much fun!
Come to this tour hungry! I tried soooo many different foods with May and really got to try a variety of dishes that highlighted southern Vietnamese cuisine. In addition May shared a lot of information about Vietnamese history and culture which was a great addition to the tour. I had such a great time and would highly recommend this tour with May.
Had a tour with Dat as a tour guide and I had a great time. We tried more food than I could eat and everything was amazing. Tried a lot of food that I had never tried or went to areas I would never have found by myself. I recommend this tour to anyone in HCMC, just make sure you don't eat anything before the food. There is A LOT of food!
