Wildernis, watervallen & wilde dieren! Bezoek Mt. Field National Park en wandel tussen de reuzen op de Tall Trees track, zie spectaculaire Russell Falls & Horseshoes Falls, bezoek de lokale Tassie Devils, Wombats & Echidnas en sluit de dag af met een spectaculair uitzicht op Hobart vanaf de top van kunanyi / Mount Wellington. Mount Field is een van de oudste nationale parken van Tasmanië, en zeker de mooiste. Dit natuurlijke wonderland, op slechts 1,5 uur rijden van Hobart, beschikt over weelderig gematigd regenwoud, humeurige alpine heidevelden en watervallen. Het is een plek van rust en geweldige korte wandelingen - en er staan er genoeg op de agenda.
We beginnen met de wandeling naar Russell Falls, de meest herkenbare waterval van Tasmanië met zijn 3-laagse druppel. Het is een gemakkelijke en plezierige wandeling langs een prachtig bospad tussen gemengde soorten bos en gematigd regenwoud. Dit is de meest gefotografeerde waterval van Tassie en we genieten van het geweldige uitzicht voordat we onze wandeling voortzetten.
Net voorbij Russell Falls beklimmen we de trap naar Horseshoe Falls, een majestueuze waterval genesteld in het bos, die volgens sommigen nog indrukwekkender is dan Russell Falls!
We vervolgen onze weg langs het Three Falls Circuit en gaan het gedeelte in dat bekend staat als de Tall Trees Track. Hoog boven ons staat de gigantische Swamp Gums van ongeveer 80 meter hoog, 's werelds hoogste bloeiende plant. We genieten van onze lunchpauze in een van de vele prachtige picknickplaatsen van het Nationaal Park.
Voor de enthousiaste wandelaars gaat u verder over de volledige Three Waterfalls Trail en tikt u de laatste waterval af - Lady Baron Falls.
Het volgende bezoek is Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, waar je allerlei soorten inheemse dieren zult ontmoeten. Leer meer over de zeldzame en kostbare fauna van Tasmanië tijdens een informatieve wildlife-tour onder leiding van het deskundige personeel van Bonorong.
We nemen een rit van Bonorong die ongeveer 60 minuten duurt. We komen aan op de top van Mt Wellington die trots achter Hobart staat op 1271 meter boven zeeniveau. We genieten van 30 minuten op de top van de wereld. Als je ogen niet tranen van de ijzige lucht, komen ze wel van het weidse uitzicht. Zie de hele stad, de omliggende bergen en het riviersysteem van de Derwent sprankelend aan je voeten. We keren rond 17.30 uur terug naar Hobart

The tour was very enjoyable. Tour guide Patrick was very knowledgeable and friendly. Commentary was pitched at the right level.

It's for people that love nature and can walk the full distance. It's a wonderful nature trail, rain forest and beautiful water falls.and with some luck also wild life.
Lucas was great. Informative and mostly went at a pace. I could keep up with. Wild life preserve was fascinating. Very cold on top of Mount Wellington, but worth a visit!
Fantastic day out visiting beautiful waterfalls, trekking through the forest wilderness, which was at an easy pace, stopping many times to see the wildlife and listen to our guide Lucas information on nature and surrounding environment. Loved visiting the animal sanctuary so see the Tasmanian Devils and feed the kangaroo’s. Great views of Hobart from Wellington Mtn, despite the ever changing cloud cover. Thanks again to Lucas for making it such an enjoyable day. Would highly recommend this trip.
Great day exploring Mt. Field, Bonorong Sanctuary, and Mt. Wellington. Our guide Clint was fun and engaging, would recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing some nature!
Hike was awesome, Hannah our guide was very knowledgeable. Wildlife park unfortunately animals were in their hiding but not tour company’s fault.

I had a lovely time on this tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and happy to answer all of our questions. The bushwalk took us through some amazing scenery, and we saw quite a few pademelons and a number of different bird species. I would definitely recommend hiking boots and not runners though. We arrived at the wildlife sanctuary in time to join a tour to hear about native animals, then we were let loose to hand feed kangaroos (just don't try to feed the geese). We finished on kunanyi, which was cold and windy - definitely rug up - and had a fantastic view. Definitely recommend this tour!
