Ontdek de rijke erfenis van het heiligdom en de connectie ervan met Sugawara no Michizane, de godheid van het leren. Bewonder de 1000 pruimenbomen die in het vroege voorjaar bloeien en een schilderachtige omgeving bieden. Ervaar de bruisende vlooienmarkt (elke maand op de 25e) waar lokale ambachtslieden en leveranciers unieke ambachten en delicatessen tentoonstellen.
Sluit je tour af bij de adembenemende Kinkaku-Ji-tempel, versierd met bladgoud en weerspiegelt de schittering ervan over de serene vijver eromheen. Het Arashiyama Bamboo Grove is een van de meest iconische bezienswaardigheden, en een wandeling er doorheen zal een van je meest blijvende indrukken van deze stad zijn. Als je tussen deze stijgende bamboestengels staat, is het alsof je in een andere wereld bent.
Reizigers maken een wandeling langs de mooiste tuin van deze tempel. Deze staat sinds 1994 op de Werelderfgoedlijst van Unesco.

What a fun tour! The bikes were in pristine condition. Our tour guide was thoughtful and knowledgeable about all the sites. We stopped for lunch at a great place and then later for icecream. We highly recommend this tour!

This is an authentic backstreets journey to Kyoto historical sites. Even though it was raining, our guide Pohan was cheerful, friendly, and very knowledgeable about every place we visited. While e-bikes do take some of the effort out of pedaling, do know that the route is a combination of streets and bike paths, so you will want to be comfortable riding with at least some traffic. Thanks, Pohan, for answering all my questions and being a gracious host and guide.

Even though we had been to a couple of the places we visited on the tour, we enjoyed the experience of getting from place to place on the bike. Our guide was very good with the pace and setting proper expectations. Also, nice lunch location.

Nice way to see some of Kyoto without taking public transport! Really my only complaint is the bike seats were HARD (the guide's seat looked a lot more comfortable), so that was a bit difficult. Alan (Allen?) was a lovely guide and I wish him the best in his future endeavors!

The guide uses a slightly different bike model, and we actually have several different types of e-bikes with different seat styles and comfort levels. What we expected and more. I haven't been on a bike for at least a decade, and I picked it right up. The e-bike was easy to maneuver and ride, and thanks to our knowledgeable guide, we rode through charming neighborhoods and saw parts of Kyoto we would not have seen on our own. Once at the destination points, our guide explained in detail special things about them, deepening our understanding and experence. I learned so much, and again, acknowledged aspects I would not have known on my own. Just me, my husband and another gentleman made up our intimate group, so we had a voice in how the afternoon would go. Also, our guide knew the quick ins-and-outs of getting to entry points to beat the crowds. I highly suggest this tour. It was fun, exhilarating, and allowed us to see so much in just one day.

Exploring Kyoto with our guide Jay on e-bikes was perfect. He kept us safe on the busy streets and explained the history of each stop clearly. He has a wealth of knowledge to share and is passionate about Kyoto. We went to a great little Ramen restaurant for lunch. Remember to bring cash for lunch, all other entrance fees were paid for along with a water bottle and helmet provided.

Nice tour, could have done with some more cultural. You often cycle through the same part. There is so much to see, a pity that you cycle through the same neighborhood for so long.
Highly recommend! Learned a lot about the temples and local area from Lorenzo and he was a great guide! We had a great group too - it was fun biking through the back streets of Kyoto. We covered a lot of ground and saw/learned a lot. Am so happy we did it!
