Wat is een betere plek om onze historische reis te beginnen als het Heldenplein, een van de meest iconische plekken van Boedapest met zijn grote beelden van de belangrijkste figuren uit de Hongaarse geschiedenis. Laten we teruggaan naar de roots van de Hongaren!
We maken een aangename wandeling in het prachtige stadspark, een van 's werelds eerste openbare parken.
We bezoeken het glorieuze Vajdahunyad-kasteel, dat in feite een fantasie pastiche is die de architecturale evolutie door eeuwen en stijlen in Hongarije laat zien.
Tijdens onze wandeling in het Stadspark zien we de grootste Spa van Europa.
We gaan door Andrássy Avenue, de eigen Champs-Élysées van Boedapest, omzoomd met spectaculaire neorenaissancistische herenhuizen en herenhuizen; high-end boetieks; trendy restaurants en koffiehuizen.
We bezoeken het mooiste gebouw van Andrássy Avenue, de beroemde Hongaarse Staatsopera.
We verkennen de Joodse wijk (wat vroeger het getto was) van Boedapest met de grootste synagoge van Europa, het Holocaustmonument, interessante ruïnebars en vele andere spannende attracties.
We bezoeken de grootste kerk in Boedapest gewijd aan de eerste koning van Hongarije, herbergt een essentieel overblijfsel uit de Hongaarse geschiedenis - de Heilige Rechterhand, - de gemummificeerde hand van St. Stephen.
Natuurlijk maakt het prachtige Hongaarse parlementsgebouw deel uit van onze tour. We lopen rond dit prachtige gebouw en we zullen meer te weten komen over de interessante geschiedenis van het communistische Hongarije, de dictatuur en de 56' revolutie. Opmerking: als je mee wilt doen aan een rondleiding door het Parlement, moet je je ticket vooraf online boeken, stuur me dan hoe laat de rondleiding door het Parlement begint om ons schema dienovereenkomstig aan te passen!
We bezoeken het schoenenmonument van de Donaubank om het trieste verhaal te ontdekken.
Na het oversteken van de historische Kettingbrug bezoeken we het middeleeuwse Buda-kasteel, de verblijfplaats van de Hongaarse koningen uit de XIV. eeuw.
We bezoeken het Vissersbastion waar we kunnen genieten van het prachtige panoramische uitzicht over de stad. Mooi moment om wat foto's te maken!

George has very detailed knowledge of history and culture. He explains things in a very interesting way. He has a great sense of fun coupled with the desire to educate in a few hours. This was one of the best orivate tours we have ever taken.
George was so knowledgeable and friendly. He brought the city to life through his commentary and helped us grasp the history of Budapest and the Hungarian people.
I highly recommend this tour, as it was a great way to see all of the key historical sites in Budapest in 1 day. Our guide, György, did a great job, meeting us at our river cruise ship, taking us to all key sites through a combination of walking, subways and buses, and providing in-depth historical & cultural information throughout the tour.
We booked Rashad through VIATOR for a private day tour and as we are amateur photographers, we requested him to take us to the best view points in Budapest. His knowledge of the city was detailed and beyond anything we would have expected. He modified the tour according to what we wanted to focus on, he paid special attention to the things we were interested in, and the tour was a first of a kind experience for him also. He was very friendly and humble. It was a lot of walking so wear comfortable shoes but we saw all the main sights in Budapest. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience the best of Budapest in one day.
