Ontmoet je gids op Hiroshima Station en begin je reis naar Miyajima, een van de meest schilderachtige en spirituele bestemmingen van Japan. Reis per trein en veerboot naar het eiland en bezoek het iconische Itsukushima-heiligdom, waar de beroemde rode torii-poort uit de zee oprijst. Wandel door de winkelstraat Omotesando. In de middag keert u terug naar Hiroshima stad om zijn krachtige geschiedenis te verkennen. Bezoek de Atomic Bomb Dome, een UNESCO-werelderfgoed dat vrede symboliseert, en wandel door het Peace Memorial Park, waarbij u stopt bij monumenten gewijd aan de slachtoffers. In het Peace Memorial Museum leer je alles over het verleden van Hiroshima aan de hand van bewegende tentoonstellingen. Sluit de dag af met een ontspannen wandeling in Shukkeien Garden, een 17e-eeuwse Japanse landschapstuin vol vijvers, theehuizen en seizoensbloemen. Op dit prachtige eiland, waar natuur en geschiedenis in harmonie bestaan, kunt u wandelen door heiligdommen en tempels, genieten van wandelen in de bergen en genieten van heerlijke lokale specialiteiten.
Wandel door de winkelstraat Omotesando in Miyajima, waar u kunt genieten van lokale specialiteiten zoals momiji manju (esdoornbladvormige taarten) en verse oesters, maar ook traditionele ambachten en souvenirs kunt bekijken. Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is een plek gewijd aan het herdenken van de slachtoffers van de atoombombardementen en het overbrengen van een boodschap van vrede. Binnen het park vindt u bezienswaardigheden zoals de Atoombomkoepel, de Vredesvlam en verschillende herdenkingsmonumenten. Verken het Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, waar je meer te weten kunt komen over de verwoestingen die de atoombom heeft aangericht en de ervaringen van mensen die het hebben meegemaakt. Aan de hand van tentoonstellingen en persoonlijke getuigenissen krijg je een dieper inzicht in de tragedie van de oorlog en het belang van vrede. Belangrijke informatie Houd er rekening mee dat het Peace Memorial Museum gesloten is van 16 tot 21 februari. Tijdens deze periode wordt het museumbezoek overgeslagen, maar de rondleiding gaat door zoals gepland met bezoeken aan andere locaties.

Good group dynamics between guide and other participants. Lots of walking. More than I expected. Learned much, enjoyed people and enjoyed discussions about history and culture.
Our guide was great but the overall experience was expensive for what you are getting. Would recommend doing the Itsukushima Shrine on your own and then get a guided tour for the Peace Memorial part. Also, we paid for a small group tour of less than 5 people but it ended up being 8 people which was a bit of false advertising by Trip Advisor.
A magnificent experience. Our guide Damián from Buenos Aires taught us the secrets and curiosities of Hiroshima and Miyajima.

Kota did an amazing job showing us around and teaching us about the area. The visit to the temples on Miyajima was relaxing and unexpected. I loved it. It was a national holiday, so things were super busy, but he handled everything with patience and kindness. It was a great tour.

I feel this event was overpriced. It is not really a tour it is a guide to the train, bus and ferry that you will take and pay for in addition to the tour. The guide was friendly but not a lot of insight to the places visited. It felt self-guided.

Double check the meeting point as our booking had a different location to where the guide was and they left (before the 9am meeting time) without us. Regardless of that we managed to get hold of the guide and caught up the tour at Miyajima. The locations visited were stunning in their own ways but the insight and information provided by the guide was often vague and lacking in depth. Bo was a very friendly guide but was quietly spoken meaning not all of the group (8 people) could hear her comments at times.
