Ervaar het echte landelijke Japan in de buurt van Hiroshima. Reis met de lokale trein, oogst tuingroenten, kook authentieke gerechten met een lokale familie en deel een zelfgemaakte maaltijd op het platteland. Deze privé kookervaring van tuin tot tafel vindt plaats in een familiehuis net buiten Hiroshima City. Je kookt met verse groenten die door je gastheren worden geteeld, samen met seizoensgebonden kruiden, fruit en handgemaakt geconserveerd voedsel, terwijl je leert over de dagelijkse Japanse eetcultuur op het platteland. Ideaal voor reizigers die al steden als Tokio, Osaka en Kyoto hebben verkend, deze ervaring biedt een verfrissende verandering van tempo. De schilderachtige lokale treinrit door rijstvelden, bergen en rivieren maakt deel uit van de reis. Je wordt verwelkomd in het gastgezin, waar ze met hun twee kinderen (10 en 13 jaar) wonen. Door te koken, te praten en samen tijd door te brengen, genieten gasten van echte gastvrijheid en betekenisvolle culturele uitwisseling die verder gaat dan een typische kookles.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
•De gastheer en gasten kunnen elkaar zonder enige moeite ontmoeten. Omdat de JR Ibaraichi station is klein en niet druk. •We zijn van plan om u op te halen met de auto van het station Ibaraichi, maar wandelen is ook mogelijk (ongeveer 20 minuten). Als u wilt genieten van een wandeling, laat het ons dan van tevoren weten. • U kunt ook rechtstreeks met de auto naar het huis van de gastheer komen. Parkeren is gratis; geef dit vooraf per e-mail door.

This was easily one of our favorite activities in Japan. Satoko welcomed us into her family home in the countryside. It’s an easy one route train from Hiroshima station. It takes about an hour, but the view is honestly amazing and nothing you would get in cities. The village is surrounded by mountains so the view there is stunning. We got to pick some seasonal vegetables and cook some dishes. Satoko completed the rest with homecooked recipes. Everything was delicious. I haven’t eaten most of the dishes anywhere else. Satoko was kind enough to share some recipes. We got to meet and talk with her two children. It was fun to teach them some words in French, English and Spanish and for us to learn some Japanese. They were so sweet and were very interested in learning more about us. The whole experience honestly felt like being welcomed by relatives and as if it lasted more than 4 hours. This garden to table experience is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity that I’ll never forget! Satoko and her children are the most lovely people and are such a wonderful family! During this experience they showed us how to dig up bamboo shoots, which we were then taught how to cook. After we were given a tour of their gardens and were shown all the amazing fruits they grow. Finally we were brought inside where they prepared a wonderfully delicious meal for me and my family to enjoy. This whole experience was showered with warm conversation and a deep look into Japanese country side life. I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys Japanese food and a friendly conversation! この「庭から食卓へ」の体験は、まさに一生に一度の貴重な機会で、決して忘れることはないでしょう！里子さんとお子さんたちは本当に素敵な方々で、素晴らしいご家族でした。体験中、私たちはタケノコの掘り方を教えてもらい、その後、タケノコの調理法を教わりました。その後、庭を案内していただき、育てている素晴らしい果物の数々を見せていただきました。最後に家の中へ案内され、家族みんなで楽しめる、とても美味しい食事を用意していただきました。この体験全体を通して、温かい会話と日本の田舎暮らしを垣間見ることができました。日本食とフレンドリーな会話を楽しみたい方には、ぜひおすすめします！

Being so warmly welcomed into a family home in Japan is a privilege and a wonderful experience. We learnt a lot about real family life and cooking on a small farm in a peaceful rural community.
