Ontdek de lokale geschiedenis en tradities van Varenna tijdens een wandeltocht onder leiding van een lokale gids. Bezoek Varenna, een romantisch middeleeuws dorp aan het Comomeer, de botanische tuin van de wereldberoemde Villa Monastero, het kasteel van Vezio dat uitkijkt over het dorp, en de bron van Fiumelatte, een van de kortste rivieren ter wereld, tijdens een wandeling. Geniet van een wandeling in de natuur, omringd door stilte en prachtige panorama's. Bezoek het romantische middeleeuwse dorp Varenna, zijn kleurrijke smalle straatjes en de "Walkway of Lovers". Verken het kasteel van Vezio, een middeleeuws kasteel met een prachtig uitzicht op de kruising van de drie takken van het Comomeer. Zie de Fiumelatte, de op één na kortste rivier van Italië, al verkend door Leonardo Da Vinci. Bezoek de Villa Monastero, een prachtige villa met een botanische tuin aan de oever van het meer. Neem een pauze voor de lunch en proef lokale producten uit de omgeving, zoals lokale kazen en vleeswaren geserveerd met ambachtelijke jam en honing.

Het kasteel van Vezio toont ons een adembenemend landschap van het centrale deel van het meer, kijkend naar Bellagio, Menaggio en Tremezzo. Ondergedompeld in een eeuwenoude olijfgaard vertelt het kasteel ons verhalen over zijn oude oorsprong. Er wordt aangenomen dat het kasteel wordt bezocht door koningin Teodolinda, wiens geest soms verschijnt ...
Fiumelatte, beter bekend als de kortste rivier in Italië, komt voort uit een grot in de rots die illustere ontdekkingsreizigers heeft gehad: Leonardo Da Vinci was een van de eerste. Wanneer actief stroomt de rivier het meer in in een prachtige waterval van wit schuim.
Villa Monastero is, dankzij de strategische ligging, een van de meest interessante attracties van ons meer: de geschiedenis, het landschap, de botanische tuin die zich uitstrekt over 2 km van Varenna naar Fiumelatte met duizend botanische soorten en het Huismuseum
Varenna, een charmant vissersdorp met zijn middeleeuwse centrum, zijn kleine straatjes die leiden van het centrale plein naar het meer, de prachtige oever van het meer met de romantische "Walk of Lovers".

Weather did not cooperate, it was rainy and cold but Nadia made sure we had a wonderful experience nonetheless. The views from the castle were amazing, the gardens and natural surroundings the same. I can highly recommend taking this tour with Nadia. She is very knowledgeable and also very kind.

My wife and I enjoyed the hike. It was informative, educational, pleasurable, and thrilling. The hike is challenging, but worth the views and experience. I drank water straight from the source at a waterfall. We stopped for lunch at Il Portichetto and had an authentic meal with a liter of red wine. The churches were historical and beautiful. The botanical garden was impressive. Nadia, our guide, was the most accommodating.
We had an amazing day today with Nadia seeing and hearing all about Varenna. Nadia was very knowledgeable and friendly and we really enjoyed her company. I cannot recommend this excursion enough, it really was a highlight of our trip!

A wonderful view, the castle is interesting but does not tell its history. Indicate the sudden exit from the villa near boarding and landing of the boats is the easiest option of climbing.
Nadia was very knowledgeable and we really enjoyed our hike with her. She was also flexible about starting time which was great for us since we had an activity planned for after.

Nadia was unavailable so she got one of her colleges to take us on a private tour, Emanuelle was OUTSTANDING! He even called ahead to the restaurant to see if they had GF food…which they did! The cafe at the base of the Castle was excellent. The views were stunning! A must do if you are capable of going up and down steep uneven terrain. Emanuelle took all the photos of my and my daughter, he was so kind and very good at his job! Born and raised in Bellagio 🥰
