We halen je op bij je hotel of Airbnb als je in het stadscentrum bent. Als u ver weg woont, is ons kantoor het ontmoetingspunt. Vanaf het moment dat u instapt, ervaart u de professionele aandacht van het Turisteando-agentschap in Oaxaca. U krijgt deskundige gidsen die u meer vertellen over de tour. U leert de meest iconische plekken van Oaxaca kennen en kunt proeven van de typische gerechten, tradities en gebruiken van Oaxaca. U bezoekt meer dan 3 steden op één dag.

In dit prachtige dorp leert u alles over de eeuwenoude methoden die de gemeenschap gebruikt om hun wollen kleding en tapijten te verven met natuurlijke pigmenten. U leert ook over de eeuwenoude methoden waarmee zij hun handgemaakte wollen textiel maken en bezoekt hun galerie waar alle kunstwerken die zij maken, tentoongesteld worden. Ze leggen stap voor stap elk detail van hun methode uit. Ook bezoeken we in deze stad een werkplaats voor het maken van schelpkaarsen, gemaakt van bijenwas. Zij vertellen u over de toepassingen en de gebruiken achter het maken van deze kaarsen.
De gids vertelt u het verhaal van de majestueuze tulboom, die meer dan 2000 jaar oud is en een van de hoogste en breedste ter wereld is. Omdat dit onze eerste stop is en u geen tijd heeft voor ontbijt, komen de dames van het dorp hier om tamales, atoles en gestoofde taco's te verkopen. U kunt er zeker nog een hapje eten voordat u naar de volgende halte gaat.
U zult genieten van de natuurlijke zwembaden en versteende watervallen. U kunt ook zwemmen en wandelen met lokale gidsen. Zij bieden hun diensten aan bij aankomst bij de ingang, waar we uitstappen. Er wordt een vrijwillige fooi gegeven. Veel mensen denken dat je in Hierve el Agua veel moet lopen, maar in werkelijkheid is dit niet het geval. Vanaf de parkeerplaats loopt u in ongeveer 8 minuten naar de natuurlijke zwembaden van Hierve el Agua. Het pad is geplaveid en heeft een perfect wandeloppervlak. Er zijn ook kleedkamers waar u uw zwemkleding kunt aantrekken, dus maak u geen zorgen. Bij de ingang worden ook zwemkleding verkocht, mocht u deze vergeten zijn. Idealiter zou u het in uw rugzak moeten hebben.
Samen met een gids bezoeken we de archeologische vindplaats Mitla. Hij vertelt ons over de geschiedenis van wat het ooit was. Er wordt gezegd dat de Zapoteken zich rond het jaar 200 na Christus op deze plek vestigden en hun devotie voor de doden toonden. In die tijd stond de plek bekend als de 'rustplaats' voor de doden.
We stoppen voor de lunch bij een traditioneel buffet waar u kunt genieten van verschillende soorten moles, zelfgemaakte tortilla's van de comal, gegrild vlees, verschillende soorten pasta, salades en Oaxacaanse desserts.
En om af te sluiten met een zwierige noot. Je leert het proces van het maken van mezcal. De meester-mescalero legt uit welke soorten agaveplanten hij plant en oogst. U krijgt ook een kijkje in de fabriek waar het proces plaatsvindt, hoe het wordt gedistilleerd en verwerkt. Aan het einde van de rondleiding door de fabriek kunt u genieten van een open bar en proeverijen van voorouderlijke mezcal, mezcal-gemarineerde dranken, mezcal-crèmes en ambachtelijke mezcal, allemaal gratis.

Excellent experience. It was fun and most importantly we felt safe. There was even an additional stop at the end to a Mexican bakery. This is a must do tour if you are in or around Oaxaca, Mexico. It takes an entire day. We visited a huge tree - one of the biggest in the world, a traditional rug making home business showing the use of natural dyes, a traditional chocolate making business with free samples, a great restaurant for lunch, the Hierve el Agua - the petrified waterfall, and a Mescal factory with free samples.

The places we visited were amazing. The buffet had multiple options for all type of diets. Warning it is a very long tour - full day. Started around 9am, arrived to the hotel almost 12 hours later. We recommend it.
