Bij deze tour zijn 2 INDOOR-restaurantproeverijen inbegrepen! Bij Foods of New York Tours zijn we sinds 1999 de pioniers van NYC food tours! Ga met ons mee op een heerlijke “multi-etnische” voedselproeverij en cultureel/historische reis door het hart en de ziel van Greenwich Village (The Central Village – het gebied rond Washington Square Park en de New York University). Ontdek waarom dit deel van het dorp zo populair is vanwege de gevarieerde eetcultuur, rijke geschiedenis, cultuur, tegencultuur, bijzondere architectuur en het bruisende nachtleven van Greenwich Village. We beginnen bij Cuba Restaurant met een restaurant "Cubaans feest" met twee verschillende smaken van hun huisgemaakte empanadas, bakbananen en rijst en bonen.
We bezoeken Washington Square Park (het stadsplein van Greenwich Village) en leren over de radicale demonstranten, de beruchte hangende boom, de Washington Square Arch, en hoe de “leef en laat leven” beatniks, schrijvers en dichters uit de jaren vijftig en zestig Greenwich Village hun thuis.
Je kunt geen foodtour door NYC maken zonder een pizzaproeverij! en we proberen TWEE! Proef hun kenmerkende artisjokpizza EN hun klassieke margarita-pizza.

Geniet van een ZITTEND RESTAURANT DUBBELE TASTING in dit 100 jaar oude Italiaanse restaurant, waar de eigenaar nog steeds zijn huisgemaakte pasta met bolognesesaus voor je kookt en als dessert hun beroemde familierecept Tiramisu, in een klassieke NYC-restaurantsetting waar beroemdheden, politici en zelfs Joey Tribbiani (From Friends) zouden eten! Neem ook een glas wijn om te combineren met je proeverijen!
Bezoek een van de best bewaarde geheimen van Greenwich VIllage... en een thee- en kruidenwinkel waar je zeldzame specerijen en thee van over de hele wereld kunt vinden, allemaal in wat ooit een oude maffia-ontmoetingsplaats was, waar de klassieke uitstraling is hersteld en onderhouden . Probeer wat vers gezette thee met lokale "Blueberry Honey".
Sluit je tour af met een zoete proeverij van Li-Lac Chocolates, het oudste chocoladebedrijf van NYC dat beroemd is vanwege het maken van ALLES chocolade, van chocoladechampagneflessen tot de hakschoen van een chocoladevrouw! Probeer hun kenmerkende items voor een mooie afsluiting van je tour!

Everything was right on point! Great guide, Rick, great food, some history and humor. Three couples did this food walking tour and our guide was fantastic. It was a ton of food and options for adult beverages at a couple of places. Would definitely recommend and do it again next time we are in town. We have also done their original Greenwich food tour a couple of times and loved it as well.

Our Mother’s Day weekend in NYC included a Foods of New York Tour in the Heart & Soul of Greenwich Village. It was a really fun few hours loaded with a variety of tastes ranging from butter chicken to chocolates to incredible pasta and tiramisu. Can’t forget the delicioso pizzas! Rick, our troop leader, was organized, kept us moving right along from place to place and provided interesting tidbits about the neighborhood. We would’ve love to have learned a little more history, but boy did we have full stomachs when it was over! Yum!!

This tour was scheduled for a group of us. Chip worked hard to make sure we had a great time even with our event coordinator confirmation emails causing confusion with the number of attendees. But Chip and Natalie worked hard to fix it and accommodate our group. As a native New Yorker, I learned some new things about the area and got to try some well crafted food I would’ve missed otherwise. Definitely worth the money. Thanks Chip!

This was a great tour! Three of the tastings were quite substantial - like full meal sized. But they were spaced well with smaller tastings and a nice amount of walking in between. It wasn’t too much walking (totally doable) but it really helped space things out. I loved the variety of things we got to taste and our guide was knowledgeable and made it a great experience.
