De Academia Cremonensis is een school voor vioolbouw en boogschieten. Studenten leren hoe ze een viool of een boog kunnen maken.

Het bezoek bestaat uit een uitleg over hoe het een viool en een strijkstok heeft gemaakt, het bos dat is gebruikt, veel nieuwsgierigheid naar Stradivari en de vioolkunst, over het maken, vernissen en ... prijzen van violen. Je kunt het hout aanraken en ruiken, je kunt wat houtsnippers nemen ... Nadat je naar boven gaat naar de school, in de klas met studenten aan het werk, met de geur van gesneden hout, kijkend naar de tools die ze gebruiken en praten met leraren en studenten, ze komen van over de hele wereld, misschien kun je iemand uit je land ontmoeten. De school bevindt zich in een prachtig historisch paleis dat aan iedereen het juiste landschap geeft. Na het bezoek zul je de "Vioolwereld" beter begrijpen en in de toekomst zul je deze kunst beter waarderen.

Elena provided a very informative explanation of the process of violin making by hand. We also were able to tour the school and see some of the students working on their instruments. It was a wonderful introduction to Cremona!

Giovanni, the principal of the school, provided an extensive tour of the renaissance building, art works housed in the school. He taught us about the history and practice of string and bow making......very detailed. I can highly recommend this experience. Also Cremona is a beautiful town with great shopping and eating.
Wonderful presentation of the development of the modern violin, and the violin maker's art. What a treat to walk among instruments bearing the names of Stradivarius, Guarnari, and more. Very beautifully done.
If you are into classical music and violin family instruments, then this is a wonderful visit. The tour is very informative and It really complements the Stradivari Museo del violino which is just around the corner.
We had the best time during this visit. Nicholas was an incredible host and we have learnt so much about this incredible craft! Highly recommend!
The tour lasts 1 hour, with certainly many very interesting explanations in English or Italian only. Unfortunately we only speak French! We visited the workshops, and saw the students working. We find the fare excessive, we learned more by going to the violin museum.
Very interesting and enjoyable experience! We got a detailed introduction into how violins are made and got to see students of the academy in the workshop.
The school cancelled our booking on the day of the tour while we were already on the train enroute to Cremona. They told us incorrectly that it was not confirmed — it was. No real explanation was provided.
As a family with violin kids, this journey is very interesting! Even the kids was immersed in the introduction. We got a lot of new knowledge of the violin, how and where to buy a good violin.The kids got a small piece of waste wood as souvenir when left!
