Kompong Kleang is een van de drijvende dorpen aan het Tonle Sap-meer. Het Tonle Sap-meer is een grootste zoetwatermeer in Zuidoost-Azië. In het droge seizoen heeft het meer een inhoud van 2700 km2. In het regenseizoen is de omvang van het meer slechts drie keer zo groot als in het droge seizoen. er staan ruim 200 viskruiden op. Het heeft een zeer ruimtelijke verbinding met de Mekong-rivier. Tijdens het regenseizoen is het een reservoir om water uit de Mekong-rivier te herstellen. Er zijn 5 provincies rond het meer: Siem Reap, Battambong, Pusat, Kompong Chhnang en Kompong Thom. al deze 5 provincies hebben een zeer goed potentieel voor rijstoogst omdat de belangrijkste watervoorziening vanuit het meer is. In het regenseizoen kun je per boot naar de hoofdstad Phnom Penh reizen.

Ra is a fantastic tour guide. His English is very good and fluent. Touring with him is a history lesson in itself. He has vast knowledge of not only the Temples, but Siem Reap and surrounding areas. The beauty of touring with him is the hidden gems, where locals hang out, he will take you to. The van is large, clean and I always feel safe! The Floating Hut Restaurant is so relaxing after a visit to Kulen Mountain so, make sure to stop! Speaking of stopping, when or if you see something of interest, he will pull over so you can shop, taste local street food and find new off the beaten track delights.
