Ontdek de charmes van Triëst tijdens deze 2 uur durende wandeltocht met ons. Wij zijn Jerome en Eugenia, partners in werk en in het leven, en het zal ons een genoegen zijn om u door deze prachtige stad te leiden. We zullen ontdekken waarom Triëst de stad van de wind en de onofficiële hoofdstad van de koffie wordt genoemd. We beginnen onze reis op de Piazza Unità d'Italia, een van Europa's grootste pleinen aan zee, omringd door prachtige neoklassieke paleizen. Wandel door de smalle straatjes naar het oude Romeinse theater, een bewijs van het oude verleden van de stad. We lopen de heuvel van San Giusto op (lift beschikbaar) en bezoeken de kathedraal, het historische hart van de stad. We dalen af via het gebied waar ooit het voormalige Joodse getto stond. Ga verder naar de wijk Borgo Teresiano, met zijn keizerlijke Canal Grande. Perfect voor iedereen die de eclectische charme van deze kuststad wil ervaren. We kunnen de route aanpassen aan uw interesses en behoeften. Let op: de duur van de tour is inclusief wandeltijd.

Begin uw bezoek op het plein dat Triëst definieert
Een van de levendigste pleinen van Triëst met bars, restaurants, winkels en architectonische pareltjes.
We zullen een goed bewaarde Romeinse boog uit de 1e eeuw na Christus zien, die contrasteert met het moderne stedelijke landschap
Gelegen op de heuvel in het hart van het historische centrum, onthult het de verborgen middeleeuwse en antieke aspecten van Triëst. Om het te bereiken, moeten we de heuvel oplopen of een lift nemen.
We verkennen het oorlogsverleden van Triëst aan de hand van het aangrijpende monument ter nagedachtenis aan de gevallen soldaten van de Eerste Wereldoorlog.
Waardeer de weinige overgebleven sporen van de oude Romeinse periode in Triëst met het antieke theater

Uw gids zal u 15 minuten voor aanvang van de tour in de lobby van het hotel begroeten. Als u al in de stad bent, kunnen we elkaar ontmoeten op Piazza Unità d’Italia, vlak bij de Four Continents Fountain bij het stadhuis.

Jerome is a great tour guide with a passion for Trieste and history! He is a great English speaker (an Aussie, if I remember correctly!) and provided great insight to our stops and was able to work around a funeral procession that blocked some of the tour route (with all respect obviously). We made our way all over the town and felt like we understood the city culture and history much better after our first trip there!
Our guide, Jerome was excellent; very helpful and knowledgeable. He gave us a history of Trieste and showed us the old and new town.
We were lucky and pleased to discover Trieste with Eugenia... an already beautiful city has become even more interesting thanks to our guide Eugenia who, with her professionalism and enthusiasm, guided us through the city telling us its story and describing with passion the streets, churches and the most beautiful views. We recommend this visit formula that allows you to optimize the time available and discover a beautiful city.

Perfect guided tour to discover Trieste: Eugenia took me to all the emblematic places of the city (museums, churches, historical monuments...), but also to the most secret places, less known to tourists and appreciated by the triestins. She explains the history of the city, as well as its culture, its gastronomy... It is very easy to ask her questions and she gives many recommendations and tips to spend a few days in the city. I highly recommend this guided tour!
