Vallei der Koningen, de eeuwige rustplaats van de grootste farao’s van Egypte. Meer dan 3000 jaar geleden kozen de heersers van het Nieuwe Koninkrijk deze verborgen woestijnvallei, omringd door kliffen, als hun heilige begraafplaats. Ze hakten diepe graven in de rots, vulden ze met schatten, heilige teksten en schilderijen om hun ziel door het hiernamaals te Gids. In tegenstelling tot de piramides van het Oude Koninkrijk, die hoog en zichtbaar waren, waren deze graven geheim bedoeld – beschermd tegen grafrovers en bewaakt door de woestijn zelf. Hier vindt u meer dan 60 koninklijke graven, waaronder het wereldberoemde graf van Toetanchamon, dat in 1922 vrijwel intact werd ontdekt. Elk graf vertelt een verhaal, niet alleen over de dood, maar over de reis van de farao naar onsterfelijkheid.”
Deze twee gigantische beelden zijn meer dan 18 meter hoog en bewaakten ooit de ingang van een enorme tempel gebouwd door farao Amenhotep III. Vandaag de dag staan ze er na meer dan 3000 jaar nog steeds trots op bezoekers van de Westelijke Jordaanoever van Luxor te verwelkomen.”

They were flexible with the pickup point as well as the drop off location. I got the tour without a guide, we had an issue with the communication first, so we had to go back to buy the tickets, but the rest of the experience was great and it did not felt rushed
We had a wonderful half-day tour with Nasser covering the Valley of the Queens, Habu Temple and the Workers’ Tombs. He was punctual, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful — going above and beyond by taking us to a local market to help us find good quality groceries at local prices. We also decided on the spot to add Hatshepsut Temple to our itinerary and Nasser accommodated this seamlessly at a very fair price. Travelling with a small child, we really appreciated his flexibility, patience and care. Would highly recommend for families visiting the West Bank.
