De tour begint met een bustransfer van het opstappunt naar de haven van Athinios. Van daaruit brengt een boot je naar het lava-eiland Nea Kameni, waar je het bodempad kunt bewandelen naar de krater van de nog actieve vulkaan. Na het verkennen van de krater keer je terug naar de boot, die naar het tweede lava-eiland, Palea Kameni, de thuisbasis van de beroemde warmwaterbronnen gaat. De boot stopt op ongeveer 50 meter van de bronnen, waardoor u kunt zwemmen in het groene zwavelwater, uw voeten kunt dompelen of gewoon van het uitzicht kunt genieten. Vervolgens gaat de tour verder naar Thirassia Island, ooit onderdeel van Santorini voor de grote uitbarsting van de vulkaan. Je brengt er twee uur door – zwemmen op het strand, genieten van een lunch aan zee, of het dorp Manolas verkennen met zijn kronkelende trappen en traditionele huizen. Op de terugweg naar Athinios Port vaar je onder Oia door, de perfecte plek om foto's te maken van de dramatische kliffen en prachtige landschappen.

A great day climbing the volcano and seeing Thirasia for lunch. Our guide was excellent and she obviously had a passion for the volcano and geology which made it all the more interesting.

Book the activity to enjoy a sunset on the high seas and not only did no one come to pick me up at the meeting point, but I also had to be contacting them repeatedly by phone to receive a response regarding what happened. Eventually I was told that someone had taken the bus with my name on it and that they took the activity for granted.

Nice boat trip. Swimming in hot springs was not quite what it stated. Jumped into the sea and if you were lucky you found some pockets of warm water. The payment of €5 to access a very long climb to see a few holes that just looked like a quarry in the Uk. Don’t go in open shoes as the volcanic stones & sand will hurt your feet. Great views from the top but you can see them from other places on Santorini. I wouldn’t advise it on a hot day.

I had an email to tell me pick up from my hotel. Then got a phone call to say I should of been at the office in Kamari. Terrible

Nice day but very hot, making the climb to the top harder. Bring enough water, closed shoes and a hat. Not enough places in the shade on the boat.

Great trip pick on time a bit chaotic at port as to which boat you were on but apart from that a good day a long hike to volcano but worth it nice lunch in Thirissia then lovely boat ride under Oia then near coast back to port made better by happy hour. Would highly recommend Caldera Tours.
Highlight was swimming in the volcanic hot springs but make sure everything you are wearing during and after is black. The springs will stain your clothing. Swimming at Thirassia is challenging because of the rocks- wear swimming shoes if you can.
