Bij je aankomst in Toledo, begin je de tour met een panoramische bustour rond de muur met een stop bij de Mirador del Valle, daar kun je de beste foto's van Toledo maken. Je gaat verder met een geweldige wandeltocht door de oude stad om de Plaza del Ayuntamiento te bezoeken en het interieur van de indrukwekkende Primaat-kathedraal te bezoeken, een van de meest indrukwekkende monumenten in Toledo en uniek in Spanje, de "Grote kathedraal van Santa María de Toledo ", magnum opus van de gotische stijl van Spanje, je gaat verder naar het oude Paleis van Justitie en je gaat de oude Joodse wijk met zijn steegjes binnen om de kerk van Santo Tomé en het beroemde schilderij van El Greco "The Burial of Count Orgas". Voordat het een Arabische markt was en tot een paar jaar geleden was er op dinsdag een straatmarkt die "volksmond" heette, was het Enrique IV die Toledo elke dinsdag een markt gaf, een traditie die van ver komt en momenteel wordt gehouden in het Parque de la Vega. Zocodover komt uit het Arabisch, het betekent markt van de beesten, en dit plein werd ook gebruikt om de veroordeelden openlijk uit te voeren.
De kerk van Santo Tomé of Santo Tomás Apóstol is gelegen in het historische centrum van de Spaanse stad Toledo en werd gesticht na de herovering van deze stad door koning Alfonso VI de León.1 Het lijkt geciteerd in de twaalfde eeuw, zoals gebouwd op de site van een oude moskee uit de 11e eeuw.2 Deze moskee werd, samen met anderen uit de stad, gebruikt als christelijke kerken zonder grote veranderingen, omdat er geen gebouwen werden vernietigd in de verovering van de stad. Aan het begin van de veertiende eeuw werd het echter volledig vervallen door Gonzalo Ruiz de Toledo, Lord of Orgaz, en werd de oude minaret van de moskee omgebouwd tot een klokkentoren in Mudejar-stijl.3 Zijn bekendheid is te danken aan alles voor huisvesting binnen, het schilderij De begrafenis van de graaf van Orgaz van El Greco, te zien aan de achterkant van de kerk.
Naast zijn concrete historische en artistieke waarde, heeft de Kathedraal-kerk een waarde en een theologische betekenis als referentie voor het pastorale leven van het hele bisdom, voor priesters en voor lekengelovigen. Bovendien zijn de kathedralen de smederijplaats van onze westerse en Europese cultuur; ze waren het embryo van de huidige universiteiten, ze verwachtten welzijnswerk en het waren kunstworkshops. Tegenwoordig zijn de kathedralen getuigen van die cultuur en boodschap van transcendentie en waarden voor de mensen van vandaag.
Santa María la Blanca is een tempel in de Spaanse stad Toledo. Gebouwd in 1180 als een synagoge en na 211 jaar als zodanig te hebben gefunctioneerd, werd het onteigend en getransformeerd in een kerk als gevolg van de pogrom van 1391. Momenteel is het gebouw eigendom van de katholieke kerk, maar er is geen cultus in . Het is open voor het publiek en functioneert als een museum of centrum waar zowel culturele als educatieve activiteiten plaatsvinden.

All the highlights hit in one short day, plenty of time to explore on own i would have preferred an English only tour

We did not get the tour we booked, so we were disappointed. We had booked the tour with 3 hours of free time and the panoramic train, but instead, we were placed with a more structured walking tour, and no panoramic train. We were looking forward to a large block of time to explore on our own, but instead we had to stay with the group for most of the tour. The guide was lovely, and tried to offer us the opportunity to visit the cathedral, at an extra charge, which we did not want to do. However, this meant that we had to sit and wait near the cathedral for 45 minutes while the rest of the group went inside. I wanted a large block of time to explore on our own, rather than being in a large group the whole time. While the guide was very kind and knowledgeable, this was not the tour that I booked.

We are sorry about the misunderstanding, we had booked your panoramic train, however, you were kindly given the option, if willing, to do instead of taking the panoramic train, taking the panoramic bus, plus a visit with tickets to two monuments with our 30 people group, and you decided to change your tour booked to this second option. You had a total of nearly 3 hours free time in different parts of the city, including those 45 minutes in the Cathedral area. We understand that because of the heat, you preferred just to sit in a bar instead of exploring that picturesque area on your own. We apologize for not having met your expectations, the choice was given to you with the best intention of giving you a second option, being of course not mandatory, but optional. Toledo is beautiful, so much history to see and experience. I did the half day trip which was wonderful, but the cathedral isn't a part of this due to so much else to see. While I recommend the half day, to see the cathedral with the full day tour would have been even better.

This is an 8 hour trip but was advertised as 5.5 hours. Travelers should know there is a lot of waking. There isn’t a lot of free time other than the lunch hour but an hour for lunch was sufficient time to eat. The earphones and listening device provided was great to hear the tour guide throughout the tour. Very informative about synagogue and cathedral. My 15 year old liked it too.
