Welkom bij de tour van een halve dag in Delhi! Deze tour neemt je mee naar enkele van de iconische bezienswaardigheden in de stad, waaronder Humayun's Tomb, Qutub Minar, Agrasen ki Baoli en India Gate. Humayun's Tomb: Onze eerste stop is Humayun's Tomb, een magnifieke UNESCO-werelderfgoedlocatie. Qutub Minar: Onze volgende bestemming is de torenhoge Qutub Minar, een andere UNESCO-werelderfgoedlocatie. Deze 73 meter hoge minaret is de hoogste bakstenen minaret ter wereld. Bewonder het ingewikkelde houtsnijwerk en leer over de rijke geschiedenis, die teruggaat tot de 12e eeuw. Agrasen ki Baoli: Van Qutub Minar gaan we verder naar Agrasen ki Baoli, een oude trappenput in het hart van Delhi. India Gate: Onze laatste stop is de iconische India Gate, een monument ter nagedachtenis aan Indiase soldaten die in verschillende oorlogen het leven lieten. De India Gate oorspronkelijk het All India War Memorial is een oorlogsmonument op Rajpath, aan de oostelijke rand van New Delhi, voorheen Kingsway genoemd. Het staat als een gedenkteken voor 70.000 soldaten van het Brits-Indische leger die tussen 1914 en 1921 stierven in de Eerste Wereldoorlog. 13.300 militairen namen, waaronder enkele soldaten en officieren uit het Verenigd Koninkrijk, zijn ingeschreven op de poort.
Rashtrapati Bhavan stond voorheen bekend als 'Viceroy's House' en is het officiële huis van de president van India aan het westelijke uiteinde van Rajpath in New Delhi, India. Rashtrapati Bhavan verwijst mogelijk alleen naar het hoofdgebouw met 340 kamers dat de officiële residentie van de president heeft, inclusief ontvangsthallen, gastenkamers en kantoren, ook het herenhuis genoemd.
Aangewezen als beschermd monument door de Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), is een 60 meter lange en 15 meter brede historische stap goed op Hailey Road, nabij Connaught Place, in New Delhi. Hoewel er geen historische gegevens bekend zijn om te bewijzen wie Agrasen ki Baoli heeft gebouwd, wordt ervan uitgegaan dat het oorspronkelijk werd gebouwd door de legendarische koning Agrasen. Architectuur wijst erop dat het in de 13-14e eeuw tijdens de Tughlag-periode van het Sultanaat in Delhi is herbouwd
Het graf van Humayun, gelegen in het oosten van Nizamuddin, werd in 1993 uitgeroepen tot UNESCO-werelderfgoed en was het eerste tuingraf op het Indiase subcontinent. Humayun's Tomb is het Mughal-monument dat de Taj Mahal inspireerde.
Bezoek Qutab Minar, een torenhoge toren van 73 meter en de hoogste bakstenen minaret ter wereld. Het werd in 1193 gebouwd door Qutub-ud-din Aibak onmiddellijk na de nederlaag van Delhi's laatste hindoe-koninkrijk, en staat ook op de werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Manu was an excellent tour guide who made us feel welcome, took photos of us in the best spots, and gave us detailed history about the sites and India. Sunil was a fantastic driver. This was a perfect way to spend our one free day during our business trip.

Did this tour with Ankush as our guide and Veeru as our driver. We learned a lot about the history and culture of Dehli, yet never felt tired/overwhelmed as Ankush was such an easygoing tour guide and Veeru safely negotiated rush hour traffic.

Rajindeer was an excellent tour guide. He speaks very good English and very knowledgeable. He gave me some insight about the culture and beliefs while visiting some of the monuments. He also accommodated a stop to get coconuts, they are delicious! I would highly recommend this tour.
